One day, the Duck's knight had an unexpected idea

I scooped Duck out of the water and set her down. Then picked her back up again. I glanced at my notes.

I had written it- just a short chapter something small but it worked it was written it was something.

All I had to do was, well,

I glared at the words and Ahiru quacked impatiently to me

The knight calmly kissed the duck and pOof she became a beautiful princess.

To be fair, I thought to myself, this wasn't really about Duck and I. Right.

if I didn't apply it to her and I didn't apply it to me then things weren't so weird and stuff would be okay and

Duck quacked again and I gulped. Was this a stupid idea? quite possibly.

I set her down, crouched to my hands and knees and slowly...slowly

I purses my lips and brought them forward, squeezing my eyes so tightly white spots manifested in my vision.

What exactly was I expecting? a miracle? Ready to give up I opened my eyes and immediately almost fell over into the water behind me.

I shut my eyes. Opened them slightly

Orange cowlick bobbed, and Ahiru's freckled face was leaned towards mine, lips pursed

I shut my eyes again.

"YORE NOT WEARING ANY CLOTHES STUPID!!!" I shouted and got up turning all the way around so I'd have no chance to view her. I could feel it, my face burning.

but she was back!
which is..what I wanted right?

I glanced down at my notebook page. Paragraphs upon paragraphs of writing and ideas and words that I needed wanted craved.

And at the top: "I love her"

I slammed the book.

"FAKIR I'M BACK!!" Duck was prancing around the dock stark naked. I averted my eyes and unbuttoned my blue shirt, handing it to her. "ARENT YOU EXCITED??"

"I'd be a little more excited if you had clothes on dummy" She was right I WAS excited. I wanted to hug her or or just hold her carefully. "How come you don't have anything??"

"I've been a duck, DUH. Don't you have any way you could get me something? Maybe..if it's not too much trouble I mean like you ca-"

" I can get you some pants or something, it's fine." She trailed off and I could hear the smile in her tone.

"Don't be gone, for too long okay?" I had gathered my things while still avoiding looking at her.

"Is your..top-half covered?" I asked cautiously.

"It is yeah I'm mostly covered." Her voice got quieter. "Thank you Fakir"

I peeked through my hands. She was right, the shirt covered her enough that I could at least see her face.

The big blue eyes, and funny orange hair and her tiny freckles.

I smiled. I really was so happy to see her. "Don't do anything stupid." I added, as she sat on the dock.

"I know you have an affinity for drowning!!" I added on the way out.

"AN AFFINITY FOR DROWNING??" she called after me. "I HAVE NOT DROWNED ONCE >:>"

I chuckled. Things were certainly taking a turn weren't they.

...his idea led new possibilities for him and his duck. But with the old story closed? Which part do they play?
