My eyes slowly opened after a door opened and closed to my left, and I felt around in the dark to figure out where I was. 'Am I in my apartment? No... that's a desk... wait. I'm behind the desk--'

I sat up in the chair I was in and looked around the dimly lit room. "Shit, I fell asleep..." I groaned, leaning back in my chair. My eyes darted to the windows on the right-hand side of the room. I stood up and walked towards them, pulling the curtain back to see a dark sky and mostly empty streets.

"Thought you'd be out for a good three days." I jumped and turned around quickly, not expecting to be accompanied by anyone else. "Manning the phone get too boring for you?"

The mystery voice stepped out of the shadows of the hallway, and the owner presented herself. "Oh, Loona. It's just you..." I breathed a sigh of relief and walked back over to the desk, sitting on it rather than behind it. I picked up the clock on the desk and looked at it.

12:58 AM

"Yeah, you were out for a while." Loona remarked, half-sitting on the desk. She looked me up and down as I was busy with the clock, and I could almost feel her eyes track my body. "Blitz said just to leave you be, but I decided I'd stay behind... well, not exactly."

I looked up at this, intrigued by where this story was going. "Alright, continue. One thing you gotta know about me: I hate cliffhangers."

My comment awarded a small laugh from Loona, who playfully punched me in the arm before continuing. "Had to sneak out to come back here. Climbed seven stories from my bedroom, and he doesn't know any better." She sneered at the thought of Blitz being completely unaware of where she was. "He probably never will, either. I do this a lot."

I nodded, putting the clock back where I picked it up from. "I've known you for, what? A whole 20 minutes, and I could already guess what you were all about." I got up and moved to the chair behind the desk, sitting in it and looking up at her. She swung her body around so she was sitting fully on the desk now, with her legs hanging over the side I was on.

She seemed to think about my comment for a second before laughing a little. Then, she kicked a door under the desk with her foot and it creaked open. "There should be a beer or two in there." She said, moving her feet out of the way as I reached into the cupboard and pulled out two Dirty Redd's. I cracked them both open with my teeth and handed one to Loona, who skulled most of it in one drink. I did the same, and after a few more we both decided to get up and go elsewhere, taking ourselves and our drinks into the meeting room.

Loona and I sat back-to-back on the table in the meeting room, both of us holding a beer can with dozens more empty beers around us.

"You really think we should still be trashing this place?" I asked, slurring some of my words. I looked over my shoulder at Loona, who shrugged in response.

"My dad's a dickhead, but he won't *hic* care." She replied with a small laugh. "He'll just get Moxx to clean it up for a fake pay raise."

I laughed and poured the last of the drink in my can into my mouth before discarding the can. "You finished your last one yet?" I asked, swinging my legs around so I was sitting straight up. "And is it getting hotter in here, or have I got a fever or something?" I jumped clumsily off the table and quickly removed my jumper, feeling cool air rush over me. I sighed in relief and flopped down onto one of the chairs.

Loona had moved so she had her legs crossed in front of her and so that she was facing me. Judging by her reaction (her face suddenly going red when I sat down) she had managed to catch me while I was taking aforementioned jumper off. I noticed her looking at me and looked up at her with a puzzled experssion.
