Julieta was there at the door, worry and a little bit of anger painted on her face.
"ay Dios Mio, where have you all been!?" she said inspecting their faces.
"Sorry mamá," They all replied, guilt seeping through their words.
"We can talk in the morning, right now I think you all should get some rest." Julieta kissed them goodnight, hugging them tightly.
Julieta took Mirabel's hand, walking her to her room. setting her down in bed, wrapping a warm blanket around her. "Why we're you all out so late?" Julieta asked, sitting down beside her.
"I noticed both of their tired faces, they both seemed exhausted, I just wanted to do something nice, they were too busy to come at the right time." Mira smiled slightly, yawning, "I was waiting for them, once they realized, they came to make up for lost time." she mumbled
"That was very nice of you, I'm glad you all had fun" she spoke softly, humming.
"did you need something, mamá?"
"Just wanted to check in with you, amor," she said softly, "goodnight." she kissed the top of her head, getting up to leave.
"goodnight mami," she muttered softly
"goodnight Mi Vida," she whispered, closing the door gently behind her.
Mirabel sighed, pulling herself out of bed. She was careful of the noises she made, her breath quiet and short. She rested her weight against the railing that lined the window, Breathing in the cool air, of the night sky. Today was almost enough to make her forget everything she's been going through, a sad smile playing on her lips.
In her heart grew a new admiration for her sisters, priding in the knowledge that they cared. Or at least to some degree.

she opened her eyes softly, her eyelids feeling like a million tones of bricks were resting upon them. She felt horrible, her head pounding, wincing at the sunlight that streamed in through her window.
Her body felt heavy, shivering underneath her blankets. She sat up anyways, almost feeling like sobbing.
no one was home, all of them being out doing chores. her legs couldn't carry her, she wouldn't make it into town for help.
"c-" she swallowed dryly, "Casita?" she asked clutching onto the side of her bed.
"Help, please," she asked, the tiles almost immediately moved, she tried letting go of the bed, but her balance wasn't having it today.
she sat down, Casita moving her downstairs. "gracias," she said pushing herself off the floor, stumbling into the kitchen.
her line of vision was fading in and out of black, as she reached for water gulping it down.
"casita?" she mumbled, as she curled up on the floor in shivers. she yelled out hoarsely pain sprouting inside her, tears steadily flowing down her cheeks. Her body ached, everything hurt, she wanted to sleep, a cough escaping her, throwing her into a coughing fit.
"casita," she mumbled in deliriousness now, placing her hand against the floor.
"ay Dios mío!?" she faintly felt a hand against her forehead, her eyes were defiantly open but she couldn't see anything anyhow.
"I need mamá! where is she-" she pleaded to the unknown figure, she couldn't keep herself awake anymore, she let herself pass out the pain overwhelming her body.
