Note: Lots of POV changes!!
Liz was sleeping right beside me, It was my turn to sleep with her (Not like that you nasties they aren't incest) since her nightmares were more consistent closer to the trial.
Ever since we've found out about what those people did to her, the house has been tense. We're afraid of hurting or triggering Liz that we each tip toe around her, scared of scaring her.
Liz never showed any emotion except for that night and as much as I want her to be comfortable with being emotional, I know she probably won't be for awhile, if not ever. Trauma is damaging and it scars you as much as you want to forget it, it's like our brain punishes us for still breathing.
We all blame ourselves for what happened to Liz, even though it won't change anything but we can't help it. I know that Enzo blames himself more than anyone, and it hurts me to see him -the strong, fearless eldest brother- trying to keep it together for the sake of being seen as strong, that's one of many qualities I've seen him and Liz share.
I was pulled out of my thoughts by my screaming little sister.
Dante's POV:
It's happening again, Liz is having another nightmare.
I get up from bed and go towards Carlo's door, I'm met by the sight of the rest of my brothers crowding Carlo's room surrounding the bed, Liz was wide awake and the blank expression on her face told me that this was one of the nightmares she wouldn't want to talk about.
When she gets these nightmares she scares all of us, she gets meaner and starts acting out. One time when she had one of these nightmares and Fernando accidently put bleach on her shirt, she took his shirts and cut them into little pieces and then put the shirt pieces under his blankets he had to get all new shirts it was kind of funny.
Marcel tried to ask her if she wanted to talk about it, but she shot him down like we all knew she would. Enzo looked exhausted, we all did. The trial is in two days and it's making Liz really stressed, which is making us stressed and stress results in a lack of sleep.
"Go back to bed, I'm fine." She lied, avoiding eye contact with everyone.
"No you aren't." Enzo loudly stated, not at all impressed by the fact that Liz was clearly lying.
Here we go...
"How would you know if I'm fine or not? It's not like you're in my head, you have no idea how I feel, so don't act like you do. If I say I'm fine that means I'm fine so leave me alone." She spat not at all fazing Enzo, which seemed to make her even more mad.
I'm way to scared to talk to enzo like that but liz didn't seem scared at all, she just seemed angry.
"You were just screaming, you clearly aren't even close to fine." Enzo sighed, rubbing his hand over his face something he did when he was angry.
For someone really smart, he sure is acting really stupid right now. Not that I would ever say that to his face but still.
Liz got up from her position on the bed and walked towards the bathroom, ignoring the stares we sent her.
"What are you doing Liz?" Marcel softly asked.
"I'm taking a shower, leave me alone." She spat, slamming the bathroom door behind her.
