Gets the hat back
Gordie and Chris are almost at the end of 7th grade in junior high. They aren't dating just best friends who do have crushes on each other but they don't really tell each other that.

"Hi, can I talk to Gordie?" Chris asks Gordies mom over the phone.

"Sure" she responds and holds the phone away from her ear but you can still hear the faint "Gordons" being yelled. You can also hear a much more faint "Coming" yelled back.

Gordie grabs the phone and says "hello?".

"Hey Gordie, can you meet me at the treehouse? I have something for you." Chris tells Gordie.

Gordie thinks for a minute about what he could possibly have for him and tells his "sure I'll be right there".

So Gordie hung up the phone and told his mom where he was going before walking out the door towards the treehouse. As she walked he still couldn't think of what Chris might have for him or why he would feel the need to get him something.

He arrived at the treehouse and climbed the ladder pushing the trap door open. Chris wasn't here yet but it gave him a bit to look around.

He hadn't been here in a while ever since he started junior high teddy and Vern really took over this place. It hasn't changed much. Everything was still there well maybe except the garbage there was newer garbage now.

He soon heard the old secret knock be knocked on the door. He laughed and opened the door for Chris.

"Hey Gordo" Chris said excitedly as if he hadn't seen Gordie in years. He was also hiding something behind his back.

"Hey Chris, so what did you get me?" Gordie asked Chris's curiously.

Chris grinned "you won't believe what I have here" he exclaimed, as he handed Gordie the hat his brother had given him before he died.

Gordie reached out and grabbed the hat. "Chris how did you get this back?" Gordie questioned.

"I just snuck into Eyeballs room and got it back." He said like it was nothing.

Gordie looked at Chris as if he was crazy. "If he knew you snuck in his room he would kill you" Gordie said on the verge of tears because Chris went out of his way to get this hat back knowing how much it meant to Gordie. "Thanks Chris"

Chris just smiled and pulled Gordie into a hug. Because words would ruin this moment.
