Chapter four | Sleepless Nights

Lily and I went back to our dorm after classes ended. By the time we reached our room, it was already 7.00 pm. Gosh was it a tiring day.

I freshened up and decided to start my homework. The only problem was, I couldn't focus. My mind kept thinking about that Xavier dude. His messy hair, his smile, everything about him was just...intimidating.

Vi, snap out of it. It's not the time to drool over boys, focus.

After about an hour I had already finished my homework which was given today. I had to help Lily now as I promised her I would. Before I helped Lily I had made dinner for us since we didn't want to buy take out. I made some spaghetti and garlic bread. Lily and I love this combo.

"Lily, I made dinner!"

"Coming"

"What took you so long?"

"Vi I had to save my work before coming down, remember?"

"Hmm sure" something was weird about it as Lily would always save her files after doing certain questions but I didn't ask her.

"Thank you for the food Vi"

"You're welcome Li, now tell me have you completed your work?"

"I have only completed one of it"

"Lily Williams the assignments are due tomorrow and you have only completed one of it please tell me you're kidding"

"Nope not kidding and you're gonna stay up helping me like you promised"

"First day at university and first day of a sleepless night"

"Cheers"

I scoffed and ate fast as I had to help Lily. If she doesn't finish it early we are gonna be awake the whole night and I'm already exhausted.

I checked the time and realized it was 2 AM.

"I'm going to bed Li, good night"

"Good night and thank you Vi for the help"

"What would you do without me"

"Nothing"

"Thought so"

I was about to sleep when I heard Lily knock on the door.

"Lily go to bed for the love of god"

"No, because I can't," she said and jumped on my bed.

"Why can't you sleep?"

"I had coffee earlier, remember?"

"I told you not to so good night"

"Nope, I need to talk to you about something"

I scoffed and sat down. "Lily this better be good because I'm ruining my sleep schedule for you"

"I promise you won't regret it"

"Okay so tell me"

"I like someone"

My jaw dropped. "Lily, we just joined this university and you already like someone. Congratulations now tell me who is this lucky boy"

"Well it's Isiah"

My jaw dropped again. "I never expected it but I'm happy for you Li"

"Thank you now for the question I have been dying to ask"

"What is it?"

"What's up with you and that Xavier I caught you locked eyes with him"

"Well let me tell you if you promise me to sleep after this"

"Yes I will before you begin let me get popcorn"

"You seriously bought popcorn?"

"Yeah"

"Anyways, you already know one bit of it. Yes me and Xavier did locked eyes but it gets worse be ready. I bumped into him as I was rushing to class as you left me all alone."

Her jaw dropped. "You bumped one of the Mortelli's you should be grateful you're still alive"

"That's it and now good night"

"Oh come on, nothing else happened?"

"Lily it's only our first day here"

"True and now good night drama queen"

"Good night, simp"

Finally, after 2 hours, I finally finished my history assignments. Wasn't that easy? As a top scorer, it was pretty simple.

I decided to go to sleep early since today was a really hectic day. I plopped down on my bed and closed my eyes, but I couldn't seem to fall asleep.

I couldn't stop thinking about what happened today with the new girl. Somehow, I felt the urge to get to know her more. Which was not normal as I haven't felt this before.

Xavier snap out of it and sleep. Whatever, she's probably just another girl.
