Whatever happened in the past, remains buried and hidden in the past.

I wish I could stay true to those words, mybe then, I'll be able to live the life I've been destined to live without thinking of what happened a decade ago.

"Mrs. Dandelion, how about we cut the production of fur coats in order to increase the sales as the economy is about to enter a recession?" Alicia, my chief of production suggested, bringing me back to reality.

I didn't say anything, not that I couldn't but because I didn't want to.

Today has been the most tiring day I've ever had, from arriving to work nearly an hour late because the stupid alarm didn't go off and running errands from hell. Now, I'm stuck in a meeting that has been ongoing for nearly two hours.

That's the thing about wanting to be successful in life. You got to do things you don't want to do. Even if it means staring into space and praying for the meeting to be over.

"Everyone, thank you for attending this very important meeting but we'll have cut it short today. You're all dismissed."

I remained glued to my sit as a furious looking André came to stand infront of me.

"Look, I don't know what has got you in a shitty ass mood but listen, as a boss of a goddamn company you have to learn how to slither past all the bullshit no matter what. If you fail this company, the company will fail you." He said in a stern voice. His voice was loud and it was one you couldn't ignore, even if you tried.

"You might be the vice president of this company but remember whom you're talking to. It gives you no right to speak to me in that tone. Understood?" I might not be thinking straight at the moment, but I won't ever allow someone, much less my brother speak to me like I'm some shitless human being.

He stared at me, dumbfounded.

"Don't let your problems weigh you down. You're stronger than that." He said sympathetically, which made my already conflicted soul angry.

I don't need any body's sympathy. I'm fine.

"Excuse me, I have some paperwork I have to sign. Enjoy the rest of your evening." I said clearing my throat and biting back the tears that are threatening to spill through my eyelids.

Deep breaths Dandelion, you don't want to give your employees something to talk about.

Once I reached my office, it was slam the door as hard as I can. That was the only way to let anyone near my office to not disturb me.

I sink in the black leather chair, letting my head rest on the stack of papers on my desk.

You've been slacking!
My subconscious kicks in.

I couldn't bring myself to get up and go home. Not with how things have between between me and

My husband.

He has become more of a stranger to me than ever. Fuck! He can't even meet my eyes.

A few hours had passed and I've finished signing off every document and before I could head out of the office, I make sure to have a look at schedule.

Another busy day it is tomorrow.

Everyone went home it seems as the floor was deadly silent as the only sound that was audible was the click of her red bottom heels on the hard floor as she made her way to the elevator.

With my Versace bag in hand gifted to me by Benjamin, I make my way to the only car in the parking lot.

Once I was sitted, I let my hands rest on the steering wheel and exhale deeply.
