The blonde sat in the car, her eyes fixed on the world outside. The sunshine poured down on the window, casting a warm glow over everything it touched. She watched as the light danced across the trees, turning the leaves into a shimmering sea of green.

The sound of birds circling overhead filled the air, their songs a symphony of joy. She closed her eyes and let the music wash over her, feeling the rhythm of nature deep in her bones.

Across the road, her mother stood watching her with a mix of concern and love. She could feel her mother's eyes on her, but she didn't turn to look. Instead, she stayed focused on the world outside, lost in her own thoughts.

As Sydney looked outside the car, she could see her mother in the driver's seat, her body wracked with sobs. Her eyes were swollen and red, the tears leaving tracks down her cheeks. It was clear that she had been crying for hours, maybe even longer.

Sydney's heart ached as she watched her mother's pain. She knew that she had to be strong for her, to offer her comfort and support. But it was hard, seeing the person she loved most in the world in so much pain.

She felt a small tug on her arm. Turning, she saw her sister walking towards her, a mischievous grin on her face.

"Hey trouble," she said, her voice light and teasing. Sydney couldn't help but smile at the sight of her sister. Even in the darkest of times, she had a way of making everything seem a little brighter.

"Mum looks so sad," Caity whispered, snuggling up to her older sister. Sydney wrapped an arm around her little sister, holding her close.

"Yeah, she does," Sydney whispered back, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Do you think Mum will ever be okay again?" Caity asked, her voice filled with worry.

"I'm not sure," Sydney replied, her own voice tinged with sadness. "But we'll always be here for her, no matter what."

"Will we ever be okay?" Caity asked, her voice small and trembling.

Sydney didn't know what to say. She wished she could promise her sister that everything would be okay, that they would somehow find a way to make it through this. But the truth was, she didn't know if they would ever be okay again.

Instead of saying anything, Sydney simply stroked her sister's hair, offering her comfort in the only way she knew how. She couldn't fully comprehend what had happened, that their dad was gone, that he had taken his own life. It was all too much to bear. All she could do was be there for her family, to offer them love and support in the darkest of times.
