Everyday Ladybug

Chapter 4: Adventure

Third Person pov:

Marinette's alarm wakes her up an hour earlier than normal. Instead of being upset with the clock on her nightstand for interrupting the first peaceful nights rest she's had all week, she springs up with a smile and helps Tikki wake up.

Today is the day they leave for the trip, meaning that today is the start of the group getting a break from having to constantly hold in their emotions so they don't get akumatized.

They can't wait to get to the city of crime. Mostly because they need a breath of fresh air from the sadness of Paris. Everyone is always holding back, and it's exhausting.

Making sure she has the horse miraculous in her bag along with a couple snacks for Tikki, Marinette gets dressed in a pair of black leggings, a cropped ladybug inspired hoodie, and some red converse and heads down to the bakery with her bags, which she's thankful that she had the foresight to pack the day before. She shoots a text to Tim while walking down the stairs.

Blueberry: Heading out!

Timber: Awesome! You will officially be in my city by the end of the day. Can't wait to see what you think about it! Be Careful!

Marinette smiled in excitement when she spotted Chloe chatting with her mother at the bakery counter. Chloe deserves some positive maternal attention for a change.

Leaning against the wall, Marinette watched two of the most important people in her life for a moment until they spotted her and waved her over. She waved back and gathered her bags, walking over to join them at the counter.

"Hey, Chloe! Excited for our great escape?"

Chloe laughed at her friend's grin, "You don't have to make it sound so sinister. But yes, I'm more than ready to blow this Popsicle stand."

"Here, girls. I made some snacks for your friends." Sabine handed Chloe a box of treats as the girls gathered their bags again and headed toward the door.

"Bye Maman, love you!"

"Love you too, sweetie! Be safe."

"We will!" With one last wave, both Chloe and Marinette set their bags in the trunk of Chloe's car before climbing in and setting off on their adventure.

Arriving at the school doesn't take too long, but when the girls get there, they're happily surprised to see Luka waiting beside his sister. When he sees them, he makes his way over with his guitar case and bags, an easy smile settled on his face.

"Hey, I'm a chaperone for the trip...Surprise!"

Marinette smiles up at her tall friend. Only having one miraculous holder in Paris is a little worrying, but she knows that she might need the extra support over the next two weeks. Plus, they have Kalkki to help transfer between Paris and Gotham when they get an Akuma alert.

Marinette pushed her worries to the far corners of her mind and focused on the bright sides. More friends on this adventure.

"I'm glad you could make it, Luka. Thanks for coming."

"Yeah, we'll need help keeping little miss liar in line."

"Chloe! Behave." Marinette only received a roll of the eyes from the blonde bombshell. She guessed that was better than nothing though.

Luka glanced between the two girls before stepping aside and gesturing toward the bus that just pulled up, "Let's get this show on the road."

Marinette smiled at her friends as she led the way toward the bus. They loaded their bags before climbing aboard and sitting near the back of the bus. Better to distance themselves from the drama for as long as possible.
