of "The Sleuth Project" (TSP) Fun Facts

---

Fun Fact #1: A little bit of background, I chose to entitle this story as "The Sleuth Project" because the overall plot centers on the process of how six different individuals who have no investigative backgrounds, managed to become Castillo High's first-ever Campus Sleuths. So para siyang "project" or "operation" showing how they evolved as mere students to teen detectives.

Fun Fact #2: "Seraphim", which is Sera's first name, is based on the Bible, to which it is regarded as the highest-ranking celestial being in the hierarchy of angels. (Chapter 13).

Fun Fact #3: In Chapter 15, Queenie's bloodstain experiment is inspired and based from Sherlock Holmes' forensic experiment on bloodstains. All Rights Reserved to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle for that idea.

Fun Fact #4: Chapter 24 was the hardest chapter to write because I had to think of six different and relevant clues that each of the sleuths would discover on their own that they'll piece together later on as a group.

Fun Fact #5: I chose to have six protagonists as inspired by the Atama family from purpleyhan's Tantei High (composed of Akemi, Hiro, Akane, Ken, Riye and Reiji), as well as Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows (composed of Kaz Brekker, Inej Ghafa, Jesper Fahey, Wylan Van Eck, Nina Zenik, and Matthias Helvar). Thus the reason for the Six of Crows references in Chapter 34.

Fun Fact #6: News anchor "Lori Roberto" and weather reporter "Nathan", who are mentioned in Chapter 40, are references to Lorelei Rios and Hiro (real name: Nathan (Lopez) Alejandrino), who are characters from AkoSiIbarra's "Project Loki" series and purpleyhan's "Erityian Tribe" series respectively.

Fun Fact #7: I didn't choose the numbers "414" as the Room number for their headquarters randomly. It has a particular significance: if you add 4+1+4, the sum would be 9, which is the number of Campus Sleuths from their batch (Ann, Rein, Sera, Jarrell, Queenie, Quinn; and later on in the sequel: Enzo, Elysia and Emerie).

Fun Fact #8: Rein, Ann, Jarrell and Sera are also inspired from Hyouka's four main protagonists: Oreki Houtarou, Chitanda Eru, Satoshi Fukube, and Mayaka Ibara, respectively. Rein's hair and physical attributes are inspired from Oreki, Ann's curious nature is inspired from Chitanda, Jarrell's fun and wacky humor as well as his physical characteristics are inspired from Satoshi, and Sera's hostile or "masungit" attitude towards Jarrell is inspired by Mayaka's attitude towards Satoshi.

Fun Fact #9: The idea of "Sleuth Project" came after I have read AkoSiIbarra's first work on Wattpad entitled, "Writer's Bloc", which is currently unpublished. It's been years since I last read it, but I remember it being my favorite work from Kuya Cris as it combined writing, teen drama, and a little flair of mystery from what I remember.

Fun Fact #10: I actually didn't plan the outline of "The Sleuth Project" when I first wrote it, hence the writer's block I faced in first writing it back in 2016. I also didn't plan for it to have a sequel, "The Empire" was merely an unexpected idea that I had in tenth grade when I was dealing with frustrations about my school's unfairness and prone to favoritism, as well as with the Philippine academic system as a whole. Since the sequel was out of the blue, its plot wasn't foreshadowed in the first book, which irked me as a writer. This is one of the reasons why I was determined to edit both books — I want the series to look as if it was carefully planned, kind of like how the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is crafted.

NOTE: And that's it for now! If I remember anymore Fun Facts, I'll add it here.
