Cutting Ties

"Hey, Ma? I'm heading over to Marinette's place," Luka called.

"Wait, why are you going over there?" Juleka asked, playing with the mirror on her bracelet. She didn't want him and Marinette to break up, they were so happy together!

"It's about the picture. Marinette and Kagami went over to the restaurant and found out who took the photo."
"Wait really? Who was it?"
"Alya."

Juleka's face went pale, before she screamed out in anger.

"WHAT?!?! THAT BITCH!! OH, OF COURSE SHE DID THIS!!!"

Luka was startled by his usually shy sister's outburst.

"Woah, Jules, why are you so upset?"
"Because when I went to her house yesterday, she tried to convince us to go along with this insane plan to break you and Marinette up!"

"What?"
"Yeah, we all refused, but we didn't think she'd go through with it!"
"Alright, then do you want to come with me? We could use your help."
Okay, let's go," she said as they walked onto the pier.

Adrien ducked behind the marble bannister, watching as his father and Nathalie walked into his office. He darted down the stairs and tried to slip out of the huge black doors. Suddenly, his father walked out of the office, catching him.

"Adrien, where are you going?"
"Uh, well, I was just going over to Marinette's house. She and Kagami might have found the person who released that fake picture of us," he explained sheepishly.

Gabriel nodded.

"Very well. Nathalie, drive him over to the Dupain-Cheng Bakery, please."
"Yes sir."

Adrien gasped, then smiled at his father.

"Thank you, Father," he sighed, before running out to the car.

Marinette paced around her bedroom, biting her lip, while Kagami sat on her chaise lounge, waiting for their boyfriends to arrive.

They heard a knock on the trapdoor, then Adrien and Luka climbed up the ladder, followed by Juleka.

"Juleka? What are you doing here?"
"Luka told me what happened, and I want to help," she explained.

"Okay, what do you know?"

"Alya tried to get Rose, Alix and Mylene and I involved in some stupid plan to break you and Luka up," she spat, with venom in her voice. "I stormed out, then everyone else left, then Alya said she was going to do her plan by herself."

"But why would she try to break you up?" Adrien asked.

"Uh, well."
"You see, Adrien-"

"I had a crush on you," Marinette stated.

Everyone stared at her. She turned to Adrien with a blank, but confident face.

"I used to have a crush on you, and it was my first big crush ever. I went overboard on a lot of occasions, just to try and confess my feelings to you. Then Alya got involved, and then she got our friends involved, and it all got so complicated. But after I started to like Luka, and you started to like Kagami, I tried to stop. And now, I can say with the utmost confidence that I do not have a crush on you anymore."

"But Alya thinks you still do, which is why did this," Adrien concluded, sighing. "Thanks for your honesty, Marinette. While it is a little strange, this doesn't change our friendship."

Marinette smiled at her friend.

"And Luka, Kagami? I hope this doesn't change anything between us either."
