Forgive
Hateful dog sneering in the dark
They kicked you and tricked you and tore your pack apart
What are you now but a cold heart?
You lash out and bite the skin of all who dare get close
Do you remember a soft word spoken?
Your heart suffocated as it froze
Can it make a radiant smile beam?
Or heal a tearing gleam
No, but if it was rejuvenated what joy could it bring
Forgive the hand that first strikes
Forgive the hand that held the knife
Forgive the words that made you wish to take your own life
A tainted pool of envy
Curses you spoke of twenty
A bite you dealt in a frenzy
Ask for healing to save your withering soul
Forgive or you will burn to ash like coal
Don't you want to be made whole?
