The next morning was uneventful. My mom brought Ariana home and Cooper was playing with his train table in his room. Cooper's birthday was coming up too. My children were growing up and I was sad about it. The carnival was in town today and Ian and I decided that we should take Ariana and Cooper. We wanted to go at night so it would be cooler outside. Ariana and Cooper were downstairs with Ian eating their breakfast while I was upstairs feeding Xavier. He would be turning 3 months pretty soon and I had wondered where has the time gone. Xavier stopped sucking on the bottle and I realized that it was empty. I burped him then got his clothes on. Xavier babbled and I smiled. He would begin talking pretty soon and Ian and I were betting on what his first word would be.
"Mommy! Come down here!" I hear Ariana yell.
"Just a minute!" I yelled back. Xavier was halfway clothed and I finished dressing him before going downstairs.
"Hey baby." Ian said kissing me.
"Ew." Cooper said scrunching his nose up. I laughed.
"Daddy said we have a surprise!" Ariana bounced up and down.
"You do have a surprise." I smiled.
"What is it?" She begged me.
"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you." I stated. She frowned.
"Well can you give me a hint?" She asked nicely.
"You'll have a lot of fun." Ian said.
"Good!" She said before skipping off into the living room.
"Are you done Cooper?" I asked. He nodded and left the table to join Ariana.
"I hope they like the surprise." I sighed.
"They will." Ian said kissing the top of my head.
"Should we bring Xavier or not." I asked. Ian thought for a minute before answering:
"No. Who should we call?" He asked. I thought for a moment before listing off people.
"My mom or one of the girls."
"Let's pick one of the girls. They haven't seen him in a while." He stated.
"Who?" I asked.
"How about Shay, she loves him." He smiled.
"Okay, I'll give her a call." I said giving Xavier to Ian. I grabbed my phone and dialed Shay's number. It rang for a little while before she picked up.
"Hey Lucy! What's up?" She said.
"Can you take Xavier for a little while tonight? We're going somewhere with Ariana and Cooper and it will be loud." I explained.
"Sure! What time?" She asked.
"6:30 is fine. Thank you." I thanked her.
"No problem. I'll be at you're house by then." She said.
"Thanks again! Bye!" I said before hanging up the phone. I walked back to Ian and told him what was happening.
"Good. Now let's go see what the other kids are doing. They're pretty quiet." Ian laughed. We walked in the living room and saw that they were just watching tv.
"Well, let's go watch with them." I shrugged walking over to the couch. I grabbed Cooper and pulled him close to me while Ian had Xavier in his arms. The day went on with us running errands and getting lunch. It was almost time to go to the carnival and Shay came over to watch Xavier.
"Thanks again for doing this." I said hugging her.
"No problem! I love this little guy." She said giving him a kiss.
"Well we're going to go. Call us if you need anything! His bottle is in the fridge in case he gets hungry, bye!" I said before walking out to the garage. Everyone was already in the car when I got in. Ian backed out and we were off to the carnival.

We pulled into a parking spot at the carnival and helped Ariana and Cooper out of the car.
"We're going to the carnival!!" Ariana said bouncing up and down.
"Yay!" Cooper said. I don't think he knew what a carnival was but was excited.
We got our tickets to play games and ride things. Ian and I let them do the picking on what they wanted to do. The night was filled with laughter and screams. I could tell that Cooper was getting tired so I picked him up.
"Are you tired baby?" I asked him. He nodded and buried his head in my shoulder.
"I think we should go home. It's getting late." I whispered to Ian. He nodded and picked Ariana up. She was tired too.
"Let's go home." We said to the kids and walked out of the carnival.
Ian and I strapped them in and climbed in the car. I turned around when we were halfway home and saw that they were both asleep. I smiled. Ian grabbed my hand and held it all the way home. Once we pulled into the garage, Ariana woke up.
"I'm tired." She yawned.
"I know baby. We're going to bed." I smiled getting out of the car to grab her from her car seat. We went inside and found Shay watching tv.
"I put Xavier to bed." She said.
"Thank you. I'll be right back." I said bringing Ariana to her bed.
"Goodnight baby." I said kissing her forehead. I stepped in Cooper's room and saw Ian kiss him goodnight. I did the same before shutting the door. Ian and I went back downstairs to talk to Shay.
"Thanks again, we really appreciate it." Ian said giving her a hug.
"No problem! I have to go home though." She said.
"Okay, thanks again." I said leading her out of the front door. I waved to her when she drove away and shut the door behind me.
"Let's watch tv." Ian suggested.
"Okay." I agreed and let him lead me over to the couch. We watched tv and I felt my eyes start to close. Before I knew it, Ian was carrying me upstairs and put me to bed.
"I love you." I mumbled.
"I love you too." He said kissing me before turning the lights off. I slept well that night and had no bad dreams.
