Dreams

Mike waited impatiently for class to end. It was a week ago when he had sex with shila but since that day they had never met and this was because shila had never showed up to class. until this day.

"This will never happen again." This were her last words to him. She never answered his calls nor replied his text messages.

Claire had been watching her friend for a while and noticed that she wasn't concentrating.

It was true, shila was thinking about Tim. She had met Tim to tell him what she had done as it was eating her up but he didn't want to hear about it.

He told her that whatever she did was forgiven as they were not seeing each other at that time. He also had his flaws hence they forgave each other and the issue was buried.

The relationship will soon turn into a long distance one as he will be heading to Germany in a short while.

The lecturer walked out and Mike was more than happy that he would get a chance to talk to Shila but he was dissapointed with what she told him soon afterwards.

"I love someone else and I know that there is a girl out there whom you will make happy. But that girl isn't me." With that she and Claire had walked away.

"Someday, I'll be the governor and I will become more powerful then marry you, that's my dream." He promised himself as he watched her walk away.

Tim sat by himself at the couch in his rented bedsitter. Shila was still in class so he could not call her. He thought about life and how money had eluded him.

He thought of his date with shila. She has these dream that she hopes to turn into reality as soon as she finishes school.

She plans to open up her own veterinary clinic right here in Nairobi. She and Claire had already identified a good buildings which they will lease atleast a floor.

His girlfriend had some cash already saved but she still needed some more money to acquire the required licences.

Tim himself once thought that he would instantly be rich once he stepped foot on the football pitch.

It was a frustrating career playing in Kenya as sometimes the salary and bonuses would delay for long and he would end up suffering.

He was however relieved when his coach called and delivered to him some good news.

Apparently, some scouts had found intrest in his playing style and they would give him a chance to have a professional football career.

He will be heading to Stuttgart Germany in two weeks time.

Germany was cold by the time Tim got there. He had really enjoyed his first ever plain ride but now it was time for serious work.

He interacted with a lot of people from different countries before he was taken to his room to lay his head and prepare for the next day.

After video calling his girlfriend he went to sleep dreaming of the events that will take place the following day.

They stayed in Stuttgart for a week training and trying to impress the coaching stuff. Everyone craving for an opportunity to join the club.

He went back home and as soon as he landed in Kenya, he bragged to Shila how he met the Borrusia Dortmund star Erling Haland when they had faced Borrusia Dortmund in a friendly match.

Tim had snapped a picture of himself together with the star and it was already trending on social media.

That year alone, Tim had been to seven clubs but non accepted to sign him. One of the club claimed they felt that there was still something missing in him.

Tim was an African and getting a shot at the elite footballing clubs was no joke. He eventually gave up after being to Abu Dhabi and still there was no call up.

At the end of the year, shila and Claire both graduated from The university of Nairobi.

Both shila's parents and the highschool teacher attended her graduation ceremony.

Shila took the opportunity and introduced Tim to her parents. Her mom loved Tim but her father was slightly dissapointed with her daughter's choice.

He had wanted her to get married to a man who is well off and not a stinking footballer who earns less than forty thousand shillings in a month.

Tim acted polite infront of shila's parents but he grew tired from the insults coming from someone he wished to be his father-in-law in the near future.

Shila eventually broke ties with her father. Why keep on listening to a man who doesn't love her and had been cheating on his wife with her daughter's teacher.

Shila told her mom that she was planning to stay in Nairobi so as to persue her dream of opening up her own clinic.
