Jennifer lunged at William, landed a few solid blows to the face, but not without taking a few in return. They were both swinging at each other skillfully, dodging blows and landing blows, trading off defensively and offensively as they moved around the park, never getting very far from where Lennox still lay unconscious and Jackson still stood, able to see everything, but still unable to move.

"I'm getting tired of this" William finally said as he walked over to Jackson and thrust a knife directly into his chest.

"No!!" Jennifer screamed as she rushed over to where Jackson had fallen to his knees, clutching the knife in his chest, quickly pulling it out. Jennifer quickly covered Jackson's wounds with her hands, hoping she had gotten the silver blade out before it had a chance to poison his blood, but fearing that it was already too late.

"It's silver, he won't last long" William said, "Now let's go" and he walked over toward where Lennox was on the ground, starting to wake up. He raised his foot as if to stomp on Lennox, and faced Jennifer. "Come with me now, or I kill him right here" he threatened.

"Stop" she screamed. "I'll come with you, just leave him be" she begged.

"Good girl" William said as he approached her still on her knees next to Jackson. "Let's go" he said, as he grabbed her by the arm and dragged her to her feet, giving Jackson a kick as they walked away.

Jennifer kept looking at Jackson, hoping to see any sign of life, and then looked over to Lennox who was trying to sit him. Her eyes pleaded with him to check on Jackson, as she was being forcefully dragged away.

Lennox was slowly coming to his sense too late to interfere. He watched Jennifer's eyes and felt like she was begging him for something, but not for herself. He watched as William hit Jennifer over the head and threw her into the trunk of his car, scrambling to his feet but moving too slowly to get there before William had gotten into the driver's seat and sped away.

Lennox was suddenly reminded of Jackson, and crawled over to where his lifeless body was on the ground, blood seeping out of the wound in his chest.

Lennox wasn't a doctor, and he certainly didn't know much about how to deal with a stabbing, but in his pursuits of werewolf knowledge, he had come across some information about werewolf mortality, which included information on recovering from silver wounds. One thing he had come across was how wolfs bane blocked some werewolf capabilities. So, he reasoned that if the primary threat to Jackson right now was from the silver, if he could use the wolfs bane to prevent the silver from having a poisoning effect.

Lennox quickly pulled out the pouch that he had picked up after Jennifer had dropped it in his office, and he placed some of the wolfs bane over the wound. He didn't know if it would work, or how long to keep it in place. He also knew that if he kept it there too long, it would keep the werewolf healing capabilities from doing their job, and the wound itself would kill Jackson. But he knew he needed to try.

It was only a moment before he could see the bleeding of the wound begin to increase, and he feared it may already be too late. He removed the wolfs bane, hoping there was no longer a threat of silver poisoning and tried to stop the bleeding by applying pressure to the wound.

It was deep and the edges were rough. Lennox didn't think stitches would do much good, as a werewolf he was either going to heal quickly and stitches wouldn't matter, or it would be too late, but he did have an ointment he had come across that he thought might help counteract the effects of the wolfs bane, if that was still an issue preventing Jackson from healing. But, he didn't have that with him, it was back at his office.

Lennox dragged the lifeless form of Jackson over to his truck and put him inside, and then quickly drove to his office. He ran inside and quickly grabbed the ointment to apply to the wound which was still bleeding. After applying the treatment, he struggled with Jackson's body to get him inside and onto the couch inside the office.

It was a few minutes later that the bleeding had stopped, and Jackson slowly began to move. He wasn't awake yet, but he seemed to be getting better, and the edges of the wound seemed to be beginning to close.

Lennox had just started to breathe easier, a slight note of relief that Jackson would recover, when he heard tires screeching outside. A quick glance out the window and he recognized a few of the werewolves he knew from around town. He didn't have any quarrel specifically with them, but he knew they were associates of the wolves he had killed, and it seemed they were choosing now as the time to seek their own revenge.

Lennox still had his own silver blade as well as the one that had been pulled out of Jackson's chest. He put wolfs bane around the doorways, front and back and pushed the desk up against the back door to prevent it from opening. He then clutched both knives, one in each hand and waited for the wolves to attack.

There were three of them. A woman, and two men. He'd seen them together often and knew that the smaller of the men was one who had followed him around town frequently. He saw the woman go around to the side and assumed she was heading around to the back door, and the two men slowly approached the front of the office. The smaller one pounded on the door, but it was the other one who spoke.

"We know you're in there, and we know you have a hostage" the larger man that Lennox knew as Mark shouted.

"Leave now, and I we can go our separate ways" Lennox shouted back. "I don't have any issues with you, and we don't have to do this."

"Sorry Buddy," came the reply. "You've crossed too many lines and pissed of the wrong people. We've got a direct order now to make sure you don't make it to tomorrow."

Lennox sighed, he no longer wanted this fight. He wanted to find Jennifer, make sure she was ok and leave this all behind, but he knew that wasn't likely to happen, so he braced himself for the inevitable attack.
