Jennifer groaned as she tried to roll over, she knew immediately that she was in the trunk of a vehicle, and it didn't take long for her to remember what had happened. She was second-guessing herself, but knew she had made the right call. There was no way she could protect Jackson and Lennox while fighting William. Even though the fight was moving to his turf, she knew she would have a better chance of defeating him where she wasn't trying to protect others.
She didn't know how long she had been out or how long it would be until they got to wherever William was taking her, but she rightly guessed that he was already invading her mental space the same way he had with Jackson, and knew she wouldn't be able to mind-link anyone for help. She was on her own, and she knew it.
Jennifer found the knife she had tucked into her boot earlier, and unthreaded the shoelace taking it completely out. Using that, she tightly tied the knife to the shoestring and hung it around her neck, tucked out of sight inside of her shirt. She then took a closer look at the other things she had that Lennox had given her when they were in his office earlier.
There was something that looked like a flash bomb, that she put into a pocket, not sure what she would do with, a vial of 'holy water' that she tossed aside, know it would be completely useless against werewolves and a set of 'brass knuckles' that were actually silver. They had been in a little bag, which is why she hadn't known what they were before, and stashed in her back pocket. She tossed those aside too, realizing they wouldn't do her any good because they would probably cause her more harm than the damage she could inflict with them, but she smiled to herself at the ingenuity of the owner of said items. She couldn't wait to get to know him more, and get to fall in love with him.
It was only about a minute later that she could hear the crunch of gravel as the car slowed down on what was most likely a driveway, before coming to a complete stop. She didn't know what to expect, but she was prepared to fight to the death to stop this man from continuing in his vicious ways.
The trunk popped open, and Jennifer was blinded by the afternoon sun that was shining into her eyes. She blinked as her eyes were becoming accustomed to the sudden brightness when she felt a firm grip on her arm, yanking her out of the trunk.
"How was your ride? Have you been awake long?" William asked her sarcastically.
Jennifer didn't waste any time in throwing a punch that landed squarely on William's jaw with such force that he actually spit out blood. She was about to strike again when she felt the paralysis freeze her to her spot. Whatever he had done to Jackson, he was now doing to her.
"I really didn't want to have to do it this way" William said, wiping the blood from around his lips.
Jennifer struggled, but was barely able to move. William dragged her along, and she had just enough control of her muscles that she was able to keep from falling to the ground, but she wasn't able to struggle or pull away from William's grip.
William dragged Jennifer along. She recognized where they were, at the Blood Moon pack house. The last time she was here was when she had watched Luther die. She shuddered as she remembered, but the emotion was no longer there. That bond had been completely broken, and replaced with her new bond she shared with Lennox. She hoped Lennox was ok and that William hadn't gone back to hurt him after knocking her out. She feared the worst, but she could feel that Lennox was ok, at least for now. Somehow, she was able to feel that he was alright. She could feel that he was afraid, but she could tell that he wasn't hurt, at least for the moment.
Jennifer closed her eyes, trying to focus on the feelings she could tell were coming from Lennox. She could sense that he was concerned for her, she could sense his concern for Jackson, which was a relief because that meant Jackson was still alive, and she could sense that there was imminent danger.
"And this over here is where our pups will grow up" she could hear William say. She realized that he had been talking to her this whole time, as he dragged her through the house and she hadn't heard a word of it until now. They had even gone upstairs and were heading into the Alpha's living quarters.
"Fuck that!" Jennifer was able to spit out in response.
"Excuse me?" William said, startled at her outburst. He was surprised that she had been able to say anything at all. Usually when he was controlling someone, they weren't able to speak.
He cast her aside and she fell onto the bed, as they had just entered the bedroom.
"You'll soon learn your place" he said to her. "And if you don't, I'll make you" he snarled. "That's not my preference. I'd love to have you my willing bride, but I'll do what I must make this a peaceful relationship."
"There won't be a relationship" Jennifer again responded. "I've met someone" she remarked snidely.
"He won't be a problem much longer" William said casually. "I've got someone cleaning up that mess. They'll take care of Jackson too, and make it look like you're new friend was the one that killed him. We'll be free to do whatever I want" and he grinned at her maliciously.
"Not if I kill you first" Jennifer threatened.
William stopped to look at her limp form, somewhat concerned that she was able to speak so freely. Typically his control didn't allow for his victims to speak, but her lack of movement convinced him that she wasn't a physical threat at this point.
"I'll be back in a minute" he said to her as he walked toward the door. "I've got to check on something, but make yourself comfortable" he chuckled to himself as he exited the room, closing the door behind him after he left.
Jennifer closed her eyes again, trying to regain the connection she had felt with Lennox before. It was after that connection that she had been able to speak, even with William's control in her mind and she wondered if somehow her connection with a human was helping her to break the control William had.
Jennifer tried to speak to Lennox as if there were a mind-link, but that wasn't working. She tried again, but this time followed her emotions, her feelings as she had before and there was a spark. She was able to feel him and that he was fighting. He was fighting for his life.
