The next morning, Mare woke up to the sound of someone knocking on her bedroom door. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, her vision a bit fuzzy from her good night sleep.

"Who is it?" She asked as she stretched out her stiff limbs.

The person behind the door responded, "It's me, Betty... your maid. I've come to prepare you for the day."

Mare completely forgot that she had a servant now, from what she read in books, they'd most likely open her curtains and dress her.

"Just a minute, Betty!" Mare called, she pushed back her covers and found someone was in her bed.

The light blonde yelped, that caused the maid to ask her what was wrong.

"I'm ok, Betty, just a minute." Mare told her.

Despite what you may think, the surprised girl knew exactly who was in her bed (once she had composed herself of course)

"Christina... Christina, wake up, sleepy head." Mare laughed as she shook her friend gently.

Christina slowly opened her eyes and looked at her best friend, "Hey there, Mare, fancy seeing you here."

"What are you doing in my bed?" She asked while raising a brow.

"Well, I got scared...."

Mare raised her brow even higher.

"Castles are scary!" Christina explained after sitting up, "I thought I heard a woman eerily cry and thought it was a ghost. So, I came in here, and well...you know what I did."

"How did you get in here? I didn't hear a thing." Mare asked curiously.

"Despite how light you think you sleep, you don't. I can set fire crackers in your nose, and you wouldn't wake up."

"I..."

"Miss, are you ready?" The maid interrupted as she yet again pounded on the oak door.

Mare scowled, but she did it with a smile, the light blonde got out of bed and slid her bathrobe on. Then, the young girl walked over to the door and opened it.

"I forgot to ask what time it is?" Mare asked while scratching the back of her head.

Betty laughed a little, "Why, Miss, it's the butt crack of dawn."

"Wait, Narnian's use the saying: "butt crack of dawn"?" Mare asked, a bit shocked.

Again, Betty laughed, "Not all Miss but me father had a bit of a sailor's mouth."

"You call that a sailor's mouth?" The light blonde asked, knowing she could add worse words into that category.

"Let's get you dressed, shall we?" Asked the maid, who let her laugh turn into a giggle.

Mare nodded and stepped aside, so Betty could come in. The maid didn't notice Christina sitting in the bed as she approached the curtains. However, when she pulled them apart and let the light poor into the room, she turned around and jumped.

"Betty right?" Christina asked, a mischief grin appeared on her face.

"Oh dear me. Yes, Ma'am, what on earth are you doing in here?" Asked Betty, her hand was placed over her heart. Nonetheless, she composed herself quickly and walked over to the wooden wardrobe in the corner.

"You see..." Christina began, but got interrupted by her maid coming in a bit panicked.

"Betty! I can't find me Misses anywhere. I was knocking on her door for ten minutes and..." She began to explain, but then her eyes trailed to the bed where Christina sat waving.
