SIENNAS POV—I STARE AT CAIUS FOR A FEW SECONDS, WONDERING how long he's been standing there, watching me.
I shift awkwardly on the bench and lift my hands away from the keys, placing them in my lap. He continues to watch me, "You're not Heidi." I speak.
He leans against the wall, his arms crossed against his chest. He deadpans at me, "Outstanding observation."
I shrug my shoulders, "I am quite observational." I turn my body so I don't have to crane my neck to look at him, "So, what's up?"
He keeps his eyes down on the floor as he answers, "I heard the piano being played. No one has played in many years."
I look back down at the instrument, seeing the dust resting on the top of it. It reminded me of the first time I found the piano my father had, it was incredibly dusty from sitting in the same spot for years upon years.
"Why not?" I ask, lifting my eyes from the piano and back to him.
"Being rulers of a world full of immortals is a bit time consuming." He answers, but I feel there's more to it than that.
"Then why aren't you busy doing that?" I ask with a quirked eyebrow.
"Is it your business?" He retorts, but it's not in the same haste tone he normally has with me—instead, it sounds more like teasing. Which was a bit shocking given his attitude towards me not too long ago.
"I like to think it is, yes." I respond with a small smirk.
He looks up from the floor, our eyes meet. I can feel my heart rate quicken, and I see his eyes that normally hold an immense amount of anger soften.
I force my eyes away from his, my face starts to feel warm, and I hope he doesn't notice, but he probably does.
It's probably very silly to get flustered over something so simple, but to be fair, I'm not used to anything remotely close to romantic happening to me. And I'm not even absolute that what just happened was even romantic.
"I was discussing some things with my brothers, if you must know." He was the first to speak after a few seconds of silence, he says the last part with the same jokingly irritated voice.
I start to wonder why he's suddenly being so...not rude towards me. I think this may be the first time I haven't seen him with an angry scowl resting on his face.
"You seem to be in a good mood today." I point out.
"How so?"
