HIS EYES MEET MINE. THEY ARE BRIGHT RED and it feels like he can see into my soul.

He breaks the contact when Aro calls out his name. "Tobias, what caused this disturbance?"

Tobias? The name does not seem familiar to me, but I also don't know why it would. I don't know many people outside of my father, some of his security, and others like Ren and myself, who fight for him.

He could possibly just look like someone I've spoken to years ago. It's also probably the only plausible reasoning.

"I am sorry for the interruption, masters. We have another criminal awaiting their trial." His voice was brittle. His eyes flickered from king to king nervously.

Something was off about him, but I really can't figure out what it is, I strenuously bore my eyes into his figure and try to push my mind into remembering why I feel some familiarity towards him.

Aro sighs, "Bring them in." He orders begrudgingly.

Tobias nods and disappears back into the hallway.

"Perhaps we could visit you later?" Marcus's hushed voice asks.

I turn my head to glance at him, his chin is rested on his fist while he watches me.

I nod, "Yeah." I say absentmindedly, my mind still clustered with confusion.

I know I'm definitely overthinking this, and I've already come to the conclusion that he probably just looks similar to someone I have met before. But part of me is second guessing that theory.

"Jane." Caius barks out and I hear the door open, I look forward again. Jane hurries into the room, her hands held tightly behind her back, which was ramrod straight. Her hair was pulled into a neat bun.

She bends forward into a bow, "Master?"

"Take Sienna back to her room." Caius orders hastily.

Something in Janes face shifts from apathetic to vexed. The look in her eyes nearly sends chills down my spine.

"Of course." She accepts smoothly, though her face is still contorted in frustration.

I stand up warily, not really wanting to be alone with the angry girl. I walk down the marble steps, trying to avoid eye contact with Jane, I can feel her eyes burning into my skin like acid.

When I reach her, she spins around and walks at a quick pace towards the door. I hurry to follow behind her.

Jane pushes the door open and I have to scurry to walk through them before they bang to a close. She did not hold them open like Alec did.
