Isabela x NonBinary Reader~ New Beginnings

A/n: This story was requested and I'm so sorry about the long wait 💙

In this story the reader was with Dolores before she broke up with reader to be with Mariano, Isabela doesn't think thats very nice.

READERS SECOND PERSON POV:

Before the breakup:

You were waiting at the front door of Casita, you've knocked and now are simply waiting for your girlfriend to greet you. You thought it was strange that she didn't hear you walking up, but you decided to shake off the bad feeling.

The door swings open and a very sheepish Dolores appears. "Dolores? What happened?" You immediately know something happened, your heart starts pounding. Her eyes flick up to yours before diverting to the floor, "come in." You hesitantly step inside; the house is silent though you think you can hear people yelling. Dolores notices that your attention went to the screams, and she clarifies, "that's Isabela and... someone else." The someone else intrigues you but the thought of Isabela screaming catches you more off guard. "Why would Isabela be screaming and at who?" "Well, something..." Dolores is cut off by Isabela rushing into the room, only for her angry expression to dramatically soften upon seeing you.

Arriving shortly after her is Mariano, which only manages to confuse you even more. Everyone in the room is simply staring at you, with varying expressions upon their faces. Dolores looks nervous, Isabela looks sad, and Mariano looks indifferent. "What's...going on?" You speak slowly hoping for someone to clarify. Isabela looks like she wants to speak before Mariano interrupts her, "Dolores and you are done." Time seems to stop before all hell breaks loose.

After the breakup:

You still remember every single detail from that night. It's been about a week now and the only person from the Madrigals you've seen since then is Isabela. She's been your lifeline... even when you and Dolores were together.

You always thought there was something about her, though you didn't truly notice until recently. She makes your heart flutter, and your cheeks heat up. After what you like to call the "incident" Isabela found you and explained in greater detail what had happened. She didn't want you thinking that anything about those events were your fault.

She explained how she went home that day only to see Dolores and Mariano in the kitchen kissing. She kicked Dolores out and started screaming at Mariano, about how wrong it was and about how much it would hurt you. Even after she explained everything and spent weeks trying to reassure you, you can't help but wonder if you did something wrong. Maybe Dolores had a good reason to cheat- though thinking about Isabela defending you puts a small smile on your face. Your thoughts are interrupted by a knock at your door.

ISABELA'S FIRST PERSON POV:

After the "Incident":

I'm leaving the Casita when I catch Mariano and Dolores kissing in the corner of my eye. I so badly want to scream at them again, but I know that it wouldn't solve anything. I find it despicable, what Dolores did, cheating on mi flor. Ever since Dolores introduced the familia to Y/N I knew I would grow fond of them.

Their adorableness and kind demeanor are everything to me. Never did I intend for my fondness to expand this much but it can't be helped. I want to cherish Y/N like Dolores never did, I want to love them like she never did. I know Y/N has been having some self-esteem issues since that night- I hope I can eventually make them fade away.

I shake myself from my spiraling when I notice that I've reached Y/N's home. I quickly knock on the door hoping to see them as soon as possible. Moments later the door swings open and reveals a slightly disheveled looking Y/N.

READERS SECOND PERSON POV:

"Isa?" Is that first thing to come out of your mouth with a tilt of your head. She smiles at your response and gently opens the door wider, letting herself inside. "Hola Y/N, I'm just here to check up on you" she gives you a sad smile after saying this. You feel your mood dampen slightly before trying to perk yourself up "oh well thanks for stopping by but I'm fine." You know that she knows you're lying, if she ever found out the true extent of what you're feeling she would never talk to you again.

Truthfully Dolores hasn't been on your mind much since the incident, Isabela has been taking up all your thoughts. Her lively personality, often sending you compliments, never fails to make your cheeks heat. "Y/N, I know you're not fine and that's okay." "No Isa... you don't understand..." you want to explain but can't find the strength within yourself to do so. Isabela grabs your hands, gently holding them in hers. "You can tell me anything." You know she's being sincere just from the look in her eye, she would never lie to you. With that in mind you decide to finally spill your feelings. "I like you...like, like you a lot." You close your eyes, too afraid to see the looks of rage or disgust on her face. Instead, you feel a warm pair of lips connect with yours. Your eyes snap open. You quickly realize what's happening and eagerly respond to the kiss to the best of your ability.

The moment sadly ends with the both of you pulling apart to breathe. Isa has her most radiant smile showing while you know your face is most definitely on fire.

She has your face cupped in her hands when she speaks, "Mi Flor, you have been on my mind since the moment I met you. I am absolutely taken with you." Her confession makes you feel as if your heart will beat from your chest. "I'm so glad because that could've gone so much worse" you can't help but joke hoping to remove the red from your face. Isa simply laughs at your jest before pulling you into another kiss.

You spend the night together forgetting about your problems and feeling excited for the days to come.
