He wants to play hide and seek.
"If I can't find you, I can't have you," he says, grinning so much that she thinks his cheeks will crack like porcelain.
She laughs, feeling freedom in the way she can make noise now instead of staying silent.
She has no reason to be silent anymore.
"Fine," she says, finding herself smiling at him as he towers over her, his dark hair tousled from running through the trees around her neighborhood.
"But trust me when I say," he says, taking a step closer to her and taking a strand of hair in his fingers, "I will find you."
