A Chaotix Karaoke Night

Part 1: Getting the Party Started

The Chaotix had their karaoke night in an abandoned warehouse a few blocks away from their establishment. Every time they did this, Vector would have to spend a few hours getting things ready, while Espio would lean in the corner looking cool and Charmy would play his game. As Vector was busy setting up the stage, Espio looked at his phone. When where they going to be here? he thought to himself. 

Charmy had gotten over the defeat he had last night and beaten the boss, but it still didn't make Vector feel better about how things went last night.  He could be much better at taking care of him, and besides, it wasn't as if Espio was wrong that he had caused him to lose. However, nonetheless, he persevered, hoping that Karaoke night would get them feeling better. Still, he needed to be more aware of his surrounding.

Espio looked at his phone. It was about 4:00 PM at the moment, so he had some time to get ready his surprise. Vanishing from view, he left the warehouse and headed out while Vector was busy messing with cords and Charmy was struggling with a difficult platforming section of the level he was on. The two of them could handle their problems, and wouldn't notice he had left for at least a couple hours.

About three blocks away in a parking lot, were the members of Team Sonic, Team Dark, and Team Rose, excluding Cream, who had to be at School, and Tails, who was busying working on an engineering project. They had all received invitations from Espio, and had been waiting for about ten minutes. While they waited, Sonic was racing Shadow with Amy in hot pursuit, Knuckles was practicing his rap skills, Rouge was playing a card game with OMEGA, and Big was wondering where his frog had gone. 

Espio, arriving on the scene, quickly went about handling each problem. He first distracted Sonic by putting up a sign near a store saying "Free Chili Dogs" on it, allowing Shadow to pass him. He then hit Amy with a tranq dart, which took a few seconds to effect her, knocking her out. Finally, after searching a building for a couple minutes, he eventually found Froggy, scooping him up and heading to the parking lot.

Arriving there, he saw Shadow and Sonic were having a debate about who was faster, and where thinking about going again, while Amy, who had managed to only be unconscious for less than a minute, stumbled back, laughing to herself. After handing Big Froggy, making him very happy, Espio looked over the seven invited guests, waiting for them to regroup. "Now, if you are wondering why I've asked all of you to come here, it is because I have invited you to the biweekly Chaotix Karaoke Night," he says. "I understand that for most of you, this might be of a shock, but it's something we do and, as you can also see, this is the first time I've invited people to it. So, are you up for attending it?"

The group, pausing in what they were doing for a moment, before coming to a decision.

"Ah yeah! This is happenin'!"

"Damn straight!"

"I won't let this opportunity to spend time with Sonic go so I'll definitely be there!"

"Well, I suppose if Sonic is coming, I'll need to be there to show him whose on top."

"Well, maybe I might be able to find some info on some gems I could, ahem, liberate..."

"AFFIRMATTIVE."

"Froggy?"

Espio, nodding, said, "okay, then, I'll lead you to where it is happening, but not before getting some party snacks-don't want to Karaoke night to not have any supplies."

As the group headed down to the warehouse, Charmy dropped down from a nearby rooftop, flying back to the warehouse.

As Vector finally finished setting up the warehouse for Karaoke night, he let out a deep breathe. It had been hard work, but he had managed to get everything set up. From a table for snacks, a stage for singing, and most importantly, the discount Karaoke machine he had bought. Smiling, he turned around as he said, "okay guys, got everything-!" but suddenly stopped. 

Standing there, alongside Charmy and Espio, were seven others-Sonic, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, and Big, all carrying various snacks. 

"Hey Vector!" 

"Yo, Vector, nice to see you!"

"Nice to see you, Vector! Just try not to make any moves on me!"

"Well, I suppose I should get ready to outperform Sonic."

"Not doing too bad, Vector!"

"BEEP."

"Yay! Big froggy friend!"

As the rest of the party got everything prepared, Espio walked up to Vector, who was momentarily stunned. "This make up for last night?" he asked, smirking. 

Without hesitation, the crocodile wrapped his powerful arms around Espio and gave him a strong, comforting hug before lifting him up in the air. "Yes," he said, "it totally makes up for how last night went." 

Espio didn't know what to say, so he simply gave Vector a kiss on the cheek. If either of them weren't reptiles, they'd be blushing hard. 

Setting his partner down, the crocodile then got on the stage while everyone grabbed some snacks and sat down on the ground. Turning on the machine, Vector chose a song, got the microphone, and began to sing.
