I am going to bang my head into a wall. I swear I'll do it. I look at Harmony, who looks way too stressed out. I stand up wiping my hands on my jeans.
"Girls, can you please be quiet for two minutes. In the end it's not your decision, it's Harmony's," I tell them harshly. The girls in question turn to me with glares on their faces. "I'd but those glares away. You both know I'm right so how about you sit you asses down onto a chair and be quiet."
They reluctantly do as I say. Harmony comes over and hugs me. "Thank you for that Clara." She turns to the woman in charge of the shop, "Have you got a more reserved dresses? I was thinking spaghetti straps and floor length with no train."
She gives Harmony a warm smile. "I'll see what I can find. If I find something, I'll get the girls in the sizes available to try it on." She heads out back and Harmony sits back down. Teddy comes over to her then offers me a thankful smile.
"Why did you have to call us out like that, Clara?" Katherine asks once the lady is out of earshot. I raise an eyebrow at Charles's youngest sister. Kenzie sighs and shakes her head while Brandie looks like she's agreeing with her younger sister.
She doesn't back down. I sit a little bit straighter. "I was merely doing my job. Besides you two forgot the reason we were here is for Harmony not you two."
"Clara is right. I should have intervened sooner. You both were acting immature. Now stop trying to cause unnecessary drama," Lana says. She gives me an apologetic smile. I give her a small one in return. I pull out my phone and there is a message from Sophie.
I heard about what happened yesterday. Are you ok?
I let out a sigh. I have become remarkably close with Sophie over the summer. She has been helping me with my family and decided to help with breaking communications with all of them except my sisters.
I am. Thankfully the bruise on my face was easy to cover and I can hide the one on my stomach with clothes. They don't hurt unless someone touches them.
I look up and Harmony is studying me. She has a concentrated look on her face. I glance in my phones reflection and thankfully my make up is still there.
"Are you wearing make-up?" She asks. I turn to her and raise an eyebrow. She stares me down. "Why are you wearing make-up? You don't usually wear make-up."
I stand up and pull Harmony aside. "Don't draw attention to it. Something happened yesterday and I will be wearing make-up for a few days."
Her eyes narrow at me, "who? Was it Corey? I will follow you to yours and kill him myself."
I shake my head dismissing that thought quickly. "Jonah. I went with Corey to practice and after training was finished, I waited for Corey and Jonah came out first and started spewing shit again. He ended up catching me off guard."
"Please tell me you at least hit him back."
I let out a sigh. "No, he sucker punched me and when I recovered, I had to dodge another punch and then got kicked in the ribs before he got restrained."
She pulls me into a strong hug. I hug her back tightly. The woman comes over with a few dresses in hand. I get handed a light pink satin dress. It has thick straps, and it has this wrapped look above the waist and then cascades down to floor level.
When I put it on in the designated changing space, I have to adjust the breast area a little and lift it up as it was made for someone whose 6 foot not someone whose 5' 5. When I reach the others, I can see Brandie and Kenzie is similar dresses with unique styles above the waist and distinct colours. Kathy, Harmony, Teddy and Lana are sitting there analysing the dresses.
"I think Clara's colour is perfect to contrast the boys blue. However, it seems a bit revealing," Lana says while looking at me.
Harmony laughs, "I don't think it's too revealing, I think Clara needs a bigger breast sized." I send her a quick glare as the others start chuckling. I have to restrain from crossing my arms or do anything that would enhance that area.
"What if we saw the dress on Kathy? At least then we could see if it is revealing or not?" Teddy says trying to ease the situation. I mouth a thank you to her as I go into change. The woman hands Kathy the dress and she comes out and it actually looks really good on her.
"I agree with the colour, but could we have Kenzie's dress in that colour," Harmony ask the woman who rushes of and brings back a book. She flicks through it then nods. "Great. I'll have that."
"Ok. Let me just get the sizes," She turns to me, "Are you still the same size as couple of months ago?" I nod. "Great I'll use that unless you are planning on becoming pregnant before the wedding."
I shake my head, "No, the sizes should be the same." She nods and starts measuring the others. I sit down as Harmony looks over at me.
She comes over, "Are you ok?"
I give her a small smile and a nod. She doesn't believe me but doesn't press and goes over to her mom to talk. I sit there when my phone buzzes. I look to see a text from Corey. I look at Harmony and send her a glare. She smiles sheepishly before mouthing sorry to me. I roll my eyes and read his text.
Are you ok? Harmony texted to check on you. Do you want me to meet you at home?
I let out a small sigh at his worrying. I know if I don't reply he'll come here immediately, he's risking coaches wrath by texting me.
I'm fine. Promise. You know how bored I get at dress shopping. Harmony's overreacting. Now stop getting distracted and train.
It only takes five minutes to finalise everything and for the dresses to be ordered and everything to be put in place. I say bye to all of them and that I'll see them soon before driving back home. Pulling up I see a bunch of cars in the drive. I step out and enter to find Corey and the team in the living room. I place my bag on stairs to which the team all turn to look at me.
"Hey shortcake," Corey says getting up and walking over to me. "Practice finished early so the guys decided to hang out. That alright."
I give him a small smile, "I'm cool with it. I've got maid of honour things to do anyway." I kiss his cheek before heading into the kitchen. I hear them all start ribbing him and I have to stop myself from laughing.
I pull up my laptop and bring up the group chat with just the bridesmaids and the moms. I then pull up a travel website and look for hen dos in the areas that Harmony has said she wanted to visit. I coordinate with them over prices and times and dates. I spend a few hours booking and organising. When I finish Corey's friends have left and he's cleaning everything up.
I head into the living room. "I was gonna order Chinese for dinner. Are you up for that?" I ask. Corey looks up and nods. I head into and order the food. While we wait, I help him clean up. It doesn't take long, and we sit on the settee with our food.
"Wanna tell me what happened at the boutique? I don't buy the fact that Harmony's over-reacting," he says. I face him and fold my legs under me.
