Yor Forger was 27 years old when she got married.
She was 27 years old when she started her own family.
She was 27 years old when she went on her first real date.
And She was 27 years old when she had her first kiss.
Specifically in that order.
Somehow it all seemed unreal. Here she was, in her own apartment with an outrageously handsome husband and the sweetest little girl, and yet-
No, she didn't even want to think it.
But-
then again-
What does that old song say?
"A dream is a wish your heart makes..."
And, oh, holy fuck, if that was true...
She sat alone at the kitchen table, a mug of tea trapped in between her two hands, going cold. She had prepared the tea in the thoughts that something warm would lure her back to sleep, but it has since went untouched, as her mind wandered.
I know someplace warm that would help you sleep...
She shook her head frantically at the thought, hurriedly pushing it from her mind as if someone had the capability of reading her mindless thoughts. But, of course, that was silly. People couldn't read minds. And she was alone. On her own. As usual.
No, that's not true.
Anya was in the next room, fast asleep. She could hear her soft snores through her cracked bedroom door, casually interrupted by the nasally snarls of sleep from Bond. She had put her step daughter to sleep that night, laying beside her in her little bed, petting her hair. She used to put Yuri to sleep this way when they were kids. Anya, just like Yuri would, cuddled into her, slowly drifting off as Yor ran her fingers through her fine hair.
Loid had been out late at work that night, tending to some aggressive patient that needed his help. He was always so good that way, lingering behind and going above and beyond to help those who needed him. She was so lucky to have ended up as his wife, even though it was a fake marriage, purely for looks and nothing else beyond that. He was so good to her, and there she was, falling asleep in his daughters bed after failing to make her a proper dinner.
God, he had to hate her.
Sometimes she wondered why he had her stick around. Anya was already enrolled in Eden College. They had accepted her, and everything was going smoothly. Loid took Anya to school, spent hours on end at the hospital, made them meals, and put up with all of her shortcomings. And what does she do? Pout at five in the morning over a cup of tea.
And wish she was in her fake husbands bed.
Oh, for fuck's sake, Yor.
He had kissed her for the first time about a week ago, and since then he has seemed to be avoiding her like the plague. Well, the term "kiss" being used lightly, as it had been more of a peck on the cheek than anything. She had come home late after one of her missions. After climbing in through her bedroom window and changing into a night gown, she emerged from her bedroom to find her husband asleep on the couch. He was still in his work clothes; he had even neglected to take his shoes off. That was her justification for everything that followed. He had his shoes on the furniture.
