Being An Avenger

One thing that I get asked often on TikTok is, "what is it like to be an Avenger?" So here is where I will talk a bit about that!

Now, currently in my DR, I have retired and I have a family (that I will talk about SO MUCH in this book of my journey because I love them so much). But being an Avenger was just as awesome as it sounds. Of course, there were many ups and many downs amongst the team, but we were definitely a family. Though this is true, we weren't always that way. At the start, things were very strictly work-related. We didn't spend time together outside of working and missions. At least not often. This made things a bit miserable at times and quite lonely. So, I decided to do something about that. I began hosting what we called "art corner". We would pick a day out of the week and just sit and create things in order to unwind. Whether it be by painting, drawing, building, whatever. We would do it together. At the start, most of the team despised it. I'll admit it. But it grew on them after a while. So much so that if we missed a day, I was hounded. We also began having game nights. Monopoly quickly became thrown out of our game options because Tony would constantly cheat and/or make up rules in the middle of the game. I also began making sure that we ate together. This was more so implemented so I could be sure that Tony actually ate instead of getting his food and then simply going back to work and forgetting it exists. He did that quite often. As for the others, I needed to make sure they weren't only eating takeout because they 100% would have if I let them.

Many people also ask how often we would go on missions. Missions were very much a regular thing. The size or importance of the missions did vary though. Because of this, it was rare that there were missions we were all needed for at once. We would be alerted, typically by S.H.I.E.L.D., when there was something new that needed to be handled. Then we would determine who was necessary in order to get the job done. They would be the ones sent to handle the problem. Some missions required more people than others did. That being said, none of us were on missions 24/7. We were able to rest and take breaks. We weren't constantly on the go, though we did train daily.
