As you may know, when you're an Avenger, you have to go on missions. Now, these missions are not always as big as they are in the movies that we see. Some missions are as big as fighting Thanos, while others may simply be just retrieving information and/or files from a warehouse. Then there are the missions that feel more like vacations. Those were some of my favourites. This particular mission just so happened to be one of those and my partner for this mission was none other than Natasha Romanoff. In this DR, Nat is/was my best friend. We spent quite a lot of time together and knew each other in ways that no one else did. At this point in time, we were slightly more than just best friends. We were more along the lines of best friends with benefits in all honesty. Which made this mission easy. We had to go to the Bahamas, undercover, as a married couple. Millie and Kelanie Lowman, that's who we were together. Easy peasy, right? Wrong. At this point in time, I had the HUGEST crush on Nat. Like, madly in love with that woman. Like a lovestruck, lost puppy. But there was a job to be done, so I had to do it.
We finished the mission well before the timeframe deemed necessary, which meant we had the time to relax and just chill. Beautiful place, lovely hotel, an AMAZINGLY HOT AND SCARY WOMAN? What's not to love about that? Nat and I spent most of our time together and in that time, we grew closer. A lot closer. And I fell even farther. Which then led me to tell her how I felt aaaand having her turn me down. She didn't feel like she could commit to me in that sense which was honestly, in hindsight, for the best. If things hadn't happened the way that they did, I wouldn't have ended up with James (Bucky) and the beautiful family we have now. Natasha and I did remain best friends after all of that and we even had a little bit of fun occasionally. But, all in all, that mission is definitely still one of my favourites. Lots of memories were made that week.
