Steve and Peggy started dating a while back, but I and Ash are still just friends. I wish we were more but I feel like she doesn't see me that way. I want to ask her out really badly, but there is always the fear that she will reject me and that I would just embarrass myself in front of her.
"You just need to do it man", steve told me," it's so obvious that you like her and I'm pretty sure she likes you back"
"Wait what.... you think she likes me back?" I asked, seriously doubting steve. I mean how could someone as beautiful as her like someone like me.
"Well yeah, Peggy told me that she has liked you since that time at coney island"
My jaw dropped, my face turned a bright shade of red, and my mind went blank not knowing what to say.
"You still there buck?" steve waved his hand in front of my face, trying to gain my attention again. Once I came back from the state of shock I was in, I quickly swatted his hand away.
"Yeah I'm here, just get your hand out of my face," I said suddenly annoyed at steve, mainly because he didn't tell me sooner.
*Ashleys POV*
"Peg I feel like I'm getting mixed signals from him, one second he acts as if he likes me, but the next he goes quiet and wont even look at me " I said with my head hung low, " I mean what if he doesn't actually like me and I'm just making a fool of myself"
"Are you really that blind?" Peggy stated in her soothing British accent, "he adores you Hunny". A pink blush quickly spread across my face at her words. "and besides Steve told me that he talks about you all the time"
"Really?" I said still a little unsure.
"100%", she sounded almost certain, "now if you will hurry up, we have a carnival that we need to go to"
I quietly laughed at her and continued getting ready, putting some light make-up on and one of my finest outfits

*Buckys POV*
Steve and I had just got the carnival, and we are waiting for the girls to get here. Today is the day I am asking Ashley out, and my nerves are through the roof right now. There is a little voice in my head telling me that I will never be good enough to date someone like her, and I am trying so hard not to believe it. They said they would get here at around 5:30, only 5:17 but I am still so anxious for her to come.
A few moments later, Ashley and Peggy come into my view and I am once again shocked at how beautiful Ashley looks. As she is walking over, her yellow polka dot dress starts flowing in the wind, like a scene out of a movie, and we make eye contact. God she is gorgeous.
Remember what i said. It's the little voice in my head again. She is way out of your league.
I ignore it and walk up to the girls, greeting and hugging them both.
*Ashleys POV*
{Timeskip}
Peggy, Steve Bucky and I have been walking around the carnival for a while now. Bucky was the first to speak in this comfortable silence.
"Hey uhhh, can I talk to Ash in private please?" Both Steve and Peggy smirk, knowing whats about to happen. They both agree and walk off somewhere else.
I nervously chuckle, "what did you want to talk to me about".
"We- uhhh. We have been good friends for a while and I- umm, well.... uhh" he choked on his words, barely making sense. "Look what i'm trying to say is-" He pauses once more, his pretty blue eyes meet mine, staring at me. Have i got something on my face?
"What are you trying to say Bucky..." I say softly, beginning to over think.
He quickly blurts out the words I have been dying to hear. "I really like you!" My face turned a deep shade of red, I stood there not knowing what to say, "UGHH, I knew this was a bad idea, I knew that you wouldn't like me back, I am such an-". I cut him off when I smash my lips into his, bringing him in for a deep passionate kiss.
After a few moments we pull apart. "I have liked you since the day I met you Buck" I say smiling, as Bucky sighs a breath of relief. We can hear cheering. We turn around to see Peggy and Steve walking up to us clapping.
"Finally, I was starting to think you were going to back out", Steve grinned.
"Shut up, Punk", Bucky rolled his eyes at Steve, whilst still smiling.
I felt a small nudge in my side. I look over to see Peggy standing there with a smirk on her face. "Told you".
"Shut up", I told her, with a smile.
