"O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result."

Surah An Nisa(The Women)

Chapter:4 Verse :59

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam its time for us to reflect on the past year and its also time for us to plan ahead, to start into the end of mind. This isn't the time of celebration anymore. It's a moment of relfetion. We need to reflect in what we did in the past year and we need to look into our sins and repent to Allah SubhanaWatala

Umar bin Khattaab says : " Hold yourself accountable before you are held accountable and weigh your sins before they are weighed for you"

Let's look at what we have done. Don't forget it because Allah won't forget.

Imam al-Shafi’i once said

There is a verse in the Quran that every wrongdoer should be terrified of.

He was asked,

Which verse is that?

He replied,

And your Lord never forgets. [Surah Maryam: 64]

Everything is written down

Even if its equivalent of gram Allah Subhanawatala would bring it and place it on the scale
Allah says: " And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant."

Quran-Chapter:21 Verse: 47

"7. So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it,

8.And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it."
Quran Chapter:99 Verse:7-8

So let's hold ourselves accountable for the past year and let's plan ahead. We cannot afford to be a heedless ummah.

The greatest disease is 'Ghafla' negligence

Allah says : " And warn them, [O Muhammad], of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded; and [yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe."
Quran- Chapter:19 Verse :39

So brother and sisters we cannot be in Ghafla we need to wake up and we have to know what we want to do and what our objective is. A Muslim cannot just live for the sake of living and make it through the day. That's not appropriate for a muslim . Allah has said that that is the style of catle and not human being.

Allah says :" Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way."

Quran -Chapter:25 Verse:44

The one who do not think who do not hear do not see Allah says they are catle and then Allah further says Nay! They are even worse because u can't expect more worse than catle.

So we have to know what we want

What is that is exactly we are gonna do for the religion of Allah

Plan ahead. Don't let your time be controlled by your whimps or by shaytan.

You have to know what you will do next

Am I gonna give sadaqa?

What am I gonna learn?

Am I gonna do khataam of Quran ?

What is my eventual objective in life?

And at the top of your priority list should be huq Allah

The rights and obligations that you have toward Allah and then what comes next is your your family and yourself but make sure you don't have the list upside down

Allah needs to come first.

We ask Allah Subhanawatala to guide us to the truth.
