Ava took her phone and said.
"Listen, I found someone else. She(he) is the love of my life and I wouldn't leave her(him) for anyone else. You and I are over. I'll be with her(him) and we will get married and have kids and puppies. You can forget about us"
My heart pounded on my chest while she said that. She ended the call, tossed her phone away and let out a loud sigh. It was a phone call with her toxic boyfriend, she finally stood up to him and cut him off. She placed her hand on my thigh, caressing it gently.
"Don't worry" she said "you are the only person I love"
We locked eyes and she gave me a warm smile that made the heat in my chest rise and the butterflies in my stomach dance.
