Betrayal.

That's what I felt the moment I awoke while tied to a chair, my eyes immediately landing on my most trusted ally and friend; Kira Uchida.

She stood towering over my immobile form, scarlet eyes wide with crazed excitement, a smirk stretched across her face, dark brown hair stuck to the sides of her cheeks from the sweat brought by the heat of the hot garage. She looked insane.

"It's been a while since I last saw you my dearest, Suyin. What have you been up to?" she smiled at me. The kind of smile that a caring friend would give you, only her eyes told an entirely different story; one of hate and disgust. "Still killing people's fiancés?"

Her question didn't phase me much, even though it should've. I always knew she was upset about that one little incident that happened all those years ago, but it had to be done.
Our story was a long one, a very drawn out and tortuous one, yet I still managed to believe her lies, even through the hate in her eyes. I should've known better considering all the lives I've lived and endured, this was not my first betrayal and I am ashamed that I hadn't seen it coming.

But she was just so convincing.
Next time, perhaps. Things will be different.

"Not lately, Kiki. I've been too caught up with reliving the death of your corpse of a fiancé.

It was very therapeutic for me, ya know? Watching as his blood and brains were splattered across the walls like paint on a blank canvas." I spoke blankly. However, she only stared at me, a few small tears welling up in her scarlet pools. I knew the images of the memory currently running around in her mind would forever haunt her, and in a situation like this; there was no shame in having a little fun.

"How pitiful, are you about to cry?" I teased in a child-like voice, not an ounce of care or fear was in me for the gun that she was currently pointing at me. Why would I be scared? My soul has lived far too long, and I knew that this wasn't my last life, I'd always have another just around the corner.

Always.

It was my curse, a curse that used to be my blessing. But now that I have had my fun, I can no longer see living as a blessing. It will forever only be a nightmare. A living nightmare.

She walked up to me, and though her face was twisting in hatred and disgust, breathing ragged with the adrenaline only the best yet worst of emotions could give you; I knew that all of it was only a mere distraction from the whirling pain in her eyes.

I didn't flinch when the cold barrel of the gun met the skin between my eyes. I didn't scream when she switched off the safety, and I didn't shed a tear as I heard her utter the last words I would ever hear in this world.

"Burn in hell."

And she pulled the trigger.

A/N
Chapters will definitely not always be this short.
This is only the prologue which is why I didn't bother putting too many words into it.
I'm saving all my energy for the future chapters.

Hope you enjoyed,
thank you for reading ♡
