Chapter 72: Kato

"Midoriya! Kendo! Akane! Can you hear me?!" He cried out while running down the hallway. It was strange; normally he would be walking in a darkened environment like that to avoid obstacles but his legs decided to do the opposite that time.
WHACK.
He ran into something hard like a wall.
"Damn....." he muttered. "What I give for a flas-"
THUMP!
The barrier fell forward and onto the ground.
A glow filled his eyesight. There were active computers and various lab equipment laying around.
"What?! How did you manage to get here?!" A short bald man in a lab coat said.
"Who are you and what is this place?"
"I'm Ujiko and this is private property your trespassing on."
"Why don't you make yourself useful and tell me where they are now!"
"Where's who? I don't know who your talking about?"
WHAM!
Rift slammed the man's neck against the wall.
"WHERE IS MY SISTER?! WHERE IS AKANE?!"
"....-ack-could use a - little- help now...."
"Don't count on it; the other heroes have made mince meat of your cronies. Now are going to answer my question or will your corpse?"
"Cronies? That's not a very nice name for us." A familiar girl said.
"LAST CHANCE! WHERE. IS. MY. SISTER?!!"
"Let go of him and let's have some fun cutie!" Toga commented.
"Akane is on-the table in the——next room! But I've locked the place up!" Ujiko replied.
"I didn't know that Akane had a cute twin brother! You so handsome! Can I have a sample?!"
"I already have a girlfriend and I am quite happy with her. Now hand over my sister and nobody gets hurt."
"YOU BASTARD!!" Toga screamed as she lunged at Rift.
He quickly activated his Slipspace and fell through the ground with the villain on top. Looking up at the dark ceiling, he concentrated on landing once he dropped out.
WHAM!
The two of them crashed on top of a lab table. Rift quickly jumped to his feet while she groaned amongst the wreckage.
"What? Toga!" Another voice called out.
"Oh great, more of you." The teen muttered.
"A lot more than more kid."
"Yeah me and my army are ready!"
"No I'm the one in charge here!"
"No I am!"
"Actually I'm the real one!"
"Maybe that one is!"
Rift looked around and saw dozens of identical figures in black jumpsuits with grey face coverings.
And they all looked pissed off to him.
"I don't have time for this," he said as a slipspace portal opened up in the direction of Akane.
Without hesitation, he darted through and found himself crashing his hip against the edge of a desk on the other side.
He could hear the sounds of the villains in the previous room. It wouldn't be long before they broke down the locked door.
Turning his head around, Rift saw something.
Someone on a table.
Someone not moving.
"AKANE!!" He cried out.
Running over to his sister, the teenager was relived to see no injuries to her body. She was either sleeping or unconscious.
"Akane! Wake up! Its time to bail! Wake up! Wake up! WAKE UP!!"
CRASH!!
The door was blown off its hinges and into several pieces. Several of the identical figures stood in its place.
"Akane is not going to wake up. I administered her a very strong dose of sedatives. She'll be out for a while." Ujiko said from a distance.
"You. Are. Going. To. Regret. That!" Rift replied angrily.
Before he could get anymore words out of his mouth, the figures started pouring into the room and charging at him. They came from different angles, making it impossible to open up a giant portal beneath them. The young hero would have to fight the army on his own.
But he refused to abandon his sibling.
Taking her through a portal was not an option since her body couldn't handle the radiation of Slipspace like he could.
WHAM!
Several fists struck his face and armored chest. More of the figures jumped on top of him and landed more blows. It was quickly becoming difficult to move at all.
"You got a lot of nerve to come here and beat up my friends kid. But it ends here."
CRASH!
A boot kicked Rifts head onto the floor and cracked his jaw.
"Any last words?" The same figure asked.
He had no other option.
"Yeah, Pillar of Autumn."
