THEY both stood there in silence.
No one dared to say a word.
Aurelio looked down at Sirena, taking in her beauty and enjoying her company.
Sirena isn't good a holding a conversation or starting a conversation. She still can't believe she got promoted as manager at the coffee shop she works in.
"My mother seems to care for you two," Aurelio started the conversation after a moment of awkward silence.
Sirena looked up at Aurelio, but he was looking at his mother talking to a parent.
"Uhm, yeah she does. She knows about my mom and our situation," Sirena smiled and looked at Liv.
"My mom loves children," Aurelio said.
"I can tell by the way she treats them," Sirena nodded.
"You help out?" Aurelio asked now looking at Sirena.
Sirena nodded, "I do occasionally when my brother has separation anxiety moments,"
"Your mom not being here really affected you guys," Aurelio said. Sirena looked down not wanting to have a conversation about her mother.
"Uhm, I have to go. Tell Liv I said goodbye and I'll be back later," Sirena said with a smile. She was about to go until a hand grabbed her making her stop.
"Wait, would like to have some coffee before we go to work. I want to get to know the person my mother cares so deeply about," Aurelio said not wanting Sirena to leave.
"Uhm..." Sirena looked at Liv not knowing what to do.
"I don't know you. All I know is your the son of my brother's teacher," Sirena said pulling her hand away. She saw what she thought was Aurelio frowning but he quickly covered it up.
Why does she keep pulling away from me?!
"That's why I asked if we can get coffee to get to know each other," Aurelio kindly smiled not wanting to scare Sirena.
"I-"
"I'm sorry that took so long," Liv said walking towards them.
