Pre Face

(Jamie 13, Jacob, 13 Embry 14, Paul 14)

We ran through the wood, the boys chasing me; after I kicked their butts. I stopped to look they were far behind me

“come on. Fast my rear ends” I started running again then climbed up a tree close to the clearing.

“Where did she go?”  Jake looked around, I projected my voice

“again I say fast my rear ends” I laugh as they look all over

“come on Jai point proven” Embry says

“ what is my return worth to each of you?” I quizzed “I’ll do your chores for a month” Paul said

“I’ll carry your school bag for a week” Embry gave in, Jake was standing there with his arms crossed he sighed

“I’ll kiss you” my breathed hitched as the others looked at him

“erm Embry go to the tree on you right, Paul the one on your left, Jake the one in front of you and hold out your arms” they did as I said and I slipped out of the tree and into Jakes arms

“ah my savior” I smiled at him

“are you crazy what if you could have hurt yourself …” I cut him off

“Embry, Paul why don’t you start off without us.” I told them and went home.

“I’m sorry Jake” I looked ashamed. he places me down on the floor. Jake has always been protective of me more so since my accident all of them have; he lifts up my chin up

“you’re important to me Jai reckless stuff like that, it what got you into trouble last time.” He sighed then placed his lips on mine it was delicate and innocent

“my kiss” he whispered

“come on” we made our way back home
