When I opened my eyes, I immediately saw Oberyn next to me, we had fallen asleep facing each other.
I ran my finger down the bridge of his nose and gently kissed his lips. He didn't wake up, so I figured he was probably blacked out.It took a bit of effort to untangle myself from the bedsheets and find my clothes. But when I did, I threw them into the laundry bin and made my way to the bathroom.
My cheeks grew hot as I fully remembered and registered what had happened last night. Oberyn was something else. He had a way of moving his body that drove me crazy. He valued my pleasure just as much as his own, which was something Chris never seemed to care about.
When I finished up, Oberyn was still fast asleep on the bed. I grew a bit concerned and shook him a bit.
"Prince Oberyn?" I shook him harder. "Hey! Are you alright? Oberyn?"
I started to panic.
Had something happened? Was he hurt? Was the star draining his energy? I felt tears in my eyes, fearing the worst."Oberyn Martell, wake up!"
I saw his lips curl upwards just a bit and he suddenly pulled me down on top of himself, attacking my lips.
"Oberyn! You scared me!"
He merely laughed and kissed me again. I kissed him back, suddenly lust was coursing through my veins. He pushed me onto my back and got on top of me, making me his once again.
...
Eventually, Oberyn and I grew tired of screwing and decided to go downstairs for some breakfast.
"How is it 1 o'clock already???" I exclaimed as I looked at the clock.
"Time seems to speed up when you're..." Oberyn winked at me. "...enjoying yourself."
I laughed at him, swatting him away. I opened the fridge, figuring it was too late for breakfast and we should just skip to lunch. Suddenly, the phone started ringing. Oberyn gasped and held onto me protectively.
"What is that?" He said, pointing his dagger (which he seemed to take everywhere) towards the phone.
"Calm down, Oberyn. It's just the phone." I walked over to our landline and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hi, sweetie!"
I sighed in relief. "Mom! How are you?"
"I'm alright. I was calling to check in on you. How are things going with Chris?"
I glanced at Oberyn nervously. "It's a bit... complicated..."
"You'll have to tell me all about it tonight."
"Tonight?" I said, furrowing my brow in confusion.
"We're meeting for dinner, remember?"
I laughed. "Oh, right! How could I forget? I'll see you tonight."
"Tell Chris I say hello and that I'm excited to see him. Such a nice boy."
I hung up the phone and sank down to the kitchen floor. I pulled my knees to my chest and hugged them tightly.
"What's wrong, beloved?" Oberyn squatted down next to me, running his fingers through my hair.
"My mother..."
"Did something bad happen to her?"
I shook my head. "Chris and I were supposed to meet her for dinner tonight."
Oberyn looked down at the floor. "Oh..."
"It's okay. I'm sure she would love to meet you."
Oberyn sat down next to me, leaning against the counter. "You miss him, don't you?"
I shook my head, laughing a bit. "No, actually. I don't miss him at all. That's what scares me."
I turned my head towards Oberyn, stroking his cheek. "I've dated Chris for 5 years. I truly thought he was the one. I thought we were going to get married and have children together. He... he used to treat me so well..."
"But then?"
"But then... his father got sick. Chris started getting more irritable and violent. We went to therapy together but..." I sighed, closing my eyes and pulling my hand away from Oberyn's face. "It only got worse after his father died. Eventually, I became so dependent on him that I couldn't escape. He wouldn't let me earn my own money, he wouldn't let me have my own phone, he didn't let me have any friends. I had no one but him. I think he was afraid he would lose me too. I was the only thing he could really control in his life. He was always there for me. So that's why I'm so scared of the fact that I don't miss him at all."
Oberyn placed his hand under my chin, staring at me with those soft brown eyes of his. He looked sad, which made me even more sad. Oberyn didn't deserve this, he didn't deserve to be pulled into my drama.
"Mi amor." He kissed my lips. "I would never do any of those things to you. You don't deserve all of that, you're a princess. I just... wish I could fix all of that for you. I wish I could give you back those 5 years that you lost."
I took his hands in mine, brushing my thumbs over his knuckles. "Oberyn, tonight..."
"I'll be in my best behaviour, I promise-"
"No." I took a deep breath. "Tonight, after dinner, let's ask the star to take us to Dorne."
Oberyn looked surprised. "Are you sure? You want to leave this all behind?"
I nodded. "There's nothing here for me."
"What about your mother?"
I felt tears in my eyes, but shrugged my shoulders. "I could tell her I'm moving away. I could tell her I'm going to go live with you."
He kissed my forehead. "Princess, I would love for you to come back to Dorne with me. I would love to make you royalty. There is nothing in this world or in my world that I love more than you."
I blushed, leaning into his chest and letting him hold me. "Alright, Prince Oberyn of Dorne. Let's get you ready for tonight, I want my mother to know I'm in good hands."
