It was weird coming home to the dark and empty house. Usually Chris would have friends over or would be watching TV with a beer in his hand.
Oberyn helped me put away all the groceries, still complaining about being hungry."It's not my fault you didn't like the snack I tried to give you."
"My love, I've studied poisons for quite a long time in my life and NOTHING has ever compared to that sickening orange dust."
I rolled my eyes. "You're so dramatic. We're having pasta for dinner."
I showed Oberyn how to boil water, patiently waiting as he studied the faucet and stove. He asked me how they worked and I told him I had no idea.
I never realized how much I didn't know about technology until I met Oberyn Martell."Now, we wait."
He stared into the pot of water, as if he could make it boil faster.
"Oberyn, staring at it will only make time go by slower."
"Why does everything you make take so long?"
"It's only like 10 minutes."
Finally, the water boiled and we put the pasta in.
"Let's have some wine." I said, remembering we had a few bottles.
"Ah! Wine! Something familiar!" Oberyn exclaimed excitedly.
He followed me to the cupboard. His eyes scanned the four bottles I had. Two White (Cupcake) and two red (Josh).
"Which should we have, my love?"
I shrugged. "I usually have red with pasta."
"Red, then."
I grabbed a few glasses and Oberyn took one from my hand, laughing as he examined it.
"What the hell is this?" He looked at me, still laughing. "It's so dainty! I could crush this in my hand!"
"Please don't." I said, taking the glass from him."These aren't dainty, they're elegant."
I poured a bit of wine in each glass. He laughed again, taking the bottle from me.
"Oberyn-"
He poured more into the glasses, almost to the brim.
"We don't need that much wine!"
"Don't be foolish love! We'll drink as much as we like!"
I groaned. "Oberyn, I only have two reds."
"Then open the whites. We're getting drunk tonight!"
"I hate you." I muttered.
Oberyn took a long drink from the glass, nodding in satisfaction. "Very good. Glad to see this land isn't completely disappointing."
I frowned at him.
"Besides you, my love." He said, brushing his hand down my cheek.
I walked away from him, grabbed a colander from the drawer and placed it in the sink.
"Okay, we dump the pasta in this so the water is drained."
He nodded. "We need gloves to move this pot. I wouldn't want my princess to burn her hands."
I showed him the oven mitts and he carefully poured the pasta and water into the colander.
"Let's heat up the sauce now." I said, getting the marina sauce from the fridge.
Finally, everything was finished. We sat down at the table and began eating.
"I am convinced that my love is the best cook in the whole world." Oberyn said with a smile, taking another long drink from his wine glass. He quickly drained that glass, pouring himself another one.
"Are you enjoying it here, Oberyn? Do you miss home?"
He shrugged. "I'm not quite sure yet. Everything here is so... different. So advanced. But, I miss having royal privilege."
l nodded in understanding. "I would too. I'll treat you like royalty as much as I can."
He leaned over and kissed my lips gently. "My love, you are royalty as well. Just as much as I am." He laughed a bit, clearly getting a bit tipsy. "If we were in Dorne, you would be a true princess. Dressed in the finest fabrics, waited on like you deserve. You would have a giant castle all to yourself. You would have royal privileges and not have to worry about a dangerous past lover." He held onto my hands tightly, leaning close to my face."You would have a noble husband who would gladly kill or die for you. You... you could have anything you could possibly want."
That DID sound nice. The way he was talking made ME miss Dorne and I had never even been there.
I took a long drink from my wine glass, draining it. "Maybe if we-" I hiccuped. "Maybe if we ask the star, it'll take us there."
Oberyn smiled at me, it was a bittersweet smile. He knew the chances of that were slim, but his drunken mind wanted to believe it.
"Open the other red, your highness."
Oberyn stood up and made his way to the counter, grabbing the second bottle and pouring a wealthy amount into my glass. I didn't even care about cleaning up the kitchen at that point. I just wanted to be with Oberyn. I wanted to talk more about Dorne, I wanted to look at him, I wanted to touch him, I wanted to...
"Let's go to my room, Oberyn." I slurred with a drunk smile.
He drained his second glass, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the stairs. He quickly closed the bedroom door behind us, pressing his lips to mine and wrapping his arms around my waist. His hands slid up my shirt, sending chills all over the bare skin. I held his face in my hands, letting him have his way with me. He pushed me onto the bed, crawling on top of me.
"Princess of Dorne." He said, between hungry kisses. "I will make you mine tonight."
His lips trailed down my neck, making me release small, breathy moans. He pulled my shirt over my head, trailing kisses down my chest and stomach. He came back to my lips, as if he was addicted to them.
"My princess. My beautiful Princess of Dorne."
