"If you want proof that we are not scheming with Hybern," Rhysand said blandly to them all, "consider the fact that it would be far less time-consuming to slice into your minds and make you do my bidding."

My father scoffed, causing Eris to shift his angle between Rhysand and our mother. Not that he would attack, he most certainly wouldn't be gaining any support that way.

"Yet here I am," Rhysand went on, not deigning to give Beron a glance of acknowledgment. "Herewe all are."

Absolute silence filled the room.

"Despite Varian's unsanctioned warning ..." The High Lord of Summer said, glaring at hiscousin, who didn't so much as look sorry about it, "You were the only ones who came to help. Theonly ones. And yet you asked for nothing in return. Why?"

"Isn't that what friends do?" Rhysand said.

Tarquin took him in and just stared at him for a moment before saying: "I rescind the blood rubies. Let there be no debtsbetween us."

"Don't expect Amren to return hers," Cassian muttered. "She's grown attached to it."

Rhysand then faced Tamlin, and although he looked like he still wanted to be the crap out of him, he spoke in a somewhat calm tone, "I believe That you will fight for Prythian."

The other High Lords didn't look convinced, I certainly wasn't.

"War is upon us," Rhysand declared. "I have no interest in wasting energy arguing amongstourselves."

"You may be inclined to believe him, Rhysand, but as someone who shares aborder with his court, I am not so easily swayed" my father said, giving the members of the Night Court a wry "Perhaps my errant son can clarify.Pray, where is he?"

"Helping to guard our city," was all Feyre said. I tilted my head, and almost shuttered as my embers spoke, whispering in my ears.

Half-truths, the tell half-truths. Your brother is on the Continent.

"Pity you didn'tbring the other sister. I hear our little brother's mate is quite the beauty" Eris said.

I sent my embers towards him, him only glaring at me when they made contact with his skin.

"You still certainly like to hear yourself talk, Eris. Good to know somethings don't change over the centuries" my mate said and I almost snorted.

"Good to know that after five hundred years, you still dress like a slut"

He did not fucking say that.

I whipped my head towards him, planning to punch him in the shoulder. I would do much worse to him when we got back to the Autumn Court.

However, my plans were interrupted when someone themselves at my brother.

One of the other males got up, instantly going after him, however, was met with a blue shield.

I can't say that my brother didn't deserve it. In fact, he most certainly did, which is why I just looked straight ahead, picking at my nails.

My father was practically glaring at me, as if expecting me to break up the brawl.

"Enough, Azriel," Rhys ordered, after the other male couldn't break up the fight.

I waited a couple moments before I reached my hand.

I didn't even have to blink as I turned the barrier into ashes. There were only a couple moments of silence before they fell to the ground, the shield braking in return.
