"Walk faster" a male said, pushing his blade against my back.
"Maybe I would have an easier time walking, if your lackies weren't constricting my movements" I snapped.
The male snorted, and his 'friends' only gripped my arms tighter as they forced me to walk deeper into the camp.
I had made a mistake.
After being completely exhausted from walking all day, I had managed to get caught. By the very soldiers that I was trying to join.
I squirmed in their grip. I knew I could break away from it, though it wouldn't really do me any good.
The High Lord of Autumn's daughter caught burning Prythian soldiers alive. I could practically hear the rumors already.
Which is only one of the reasons I let them drag me towards the middle of the war camp. The other being that they would lead me to where the High Lords were.
Eyes and ears followed us as we walked.
"Just wait until the High Lords find out that we caught a spy" one of the males whispered to the other.
I just snorted.
"What? Something funny" one of them snapped.
"Nothing yet" I told the male while looking him over. "Though your nose looks a little crooked. Get punched in face recently?"
"Fuck you" the one I was insulting hissed.
"No thanks, you're not my type" I deadpanned.
His face reddened, however he didn't get the chance to respond before the one walking behind me broke off and went into a tent.
Rhysand walked out of the tent, his eyes widening as he stepped up to us.
"Stand down" he said to the two males holding me.
They hesitated, and I could practically feel the confusing in their eyes.
I stepped away from them, brushing fake dirt off of my sleeves.
"I didn't expect a party thrown in my honor, but I wasn't exactly expecting to be paraded around here like a prisoner of war" I said, faking a hurt tone.
I turned to the males. "Thanks for the escort but your presence is now unnecessary."
"You heard the female" the High Lord of the Night Court told them.
"But High Lord, we found her hanging from a tree" one of the males said. I glowered at him.
"I'm sure you did" Rhysand said, shrugging. "And I probably too would be curious as to what the High Lord of the Autumn Court's daughter was doing in the forest, though I most certainly wouldn't have grabbed her the way you did."
The males jolted in shock, probably wishing that they would've left when I told them to.
"I-we" one of them started, before looking at the others. They all started to stammer before bowing to Rhysand, and then scurrying off away from us.
"I apologize for that" he said, and I just shrugged. The male only looked me up and down, frowning as he did so.
"Are you alright?" he blurted, though even I could tell that he was surprised at himself for muttering the words.
No, I wasn't, though I wasn't going to tell him that.
"Just fine" I drawled, tapping my foot against the ground impatiently.
