The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild: Corporate Mandate At It's Finest!

"The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild" is the worst Ice Age movie ever in more ways than one. It doesn't only have the stench of Corporate Mandate all over it, but it also disrespects the lore of the entirety of the Ice Age franchise.

First of all almost ALL of the main characters are replaced with different voice actors with Buck Wild being the only one with his original voice actor and second of all the CGI Animation Quality is horrible.

When you think of Disney, you think of beautiful animation right? Well, Disney decided to cut WAY back to the point where I compare the animation to "Fanboy & Chum Chum" and "Skylanders Academy". Unfortunately for "The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild", both of those shows are actually more charming despite that kind of animation.

In fact for the case of "Fanboy & Chum Chum", it took it and used it to it's advantage when it comes to their humor while "Skylanders Academy" at least tries to use it to it's advantage when it comes to world-building and character design since the show is based off of the video game franchise "Skylanders" with similar world-building and similar look.

HOWEVER, we're talking about an Ice Age movie that's been basically made by Disney instead of Blue Sky Studios since they've been closed down by Disney for all reasons (sometimes I wonder why we keep crawling back to Disney despite knowing this).

You think that since Disney has been said to be earning $19.68 million a DAY, the animation in "The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild" would at least be as great if not just as amazing as Disney's latest #1 movie "Encanto".

Unfortunately if you only seen the movie posters floating around on Google (which somehow looks better than the actual movie) and you start to think, "Wow! This looks amazing, I gotta check it out!" you've been fooled because the animation is nothing like how it looks in the posters.

Now, let me say something before I take all of you 🎶poor unfortunate souls🎶 into a deep dive into my experience of watching this movie out of curiosity hoping that it only has a few mediocre parts in the movie; there are somethings that are good in this movie.

They're very little compared to the bad stuff in the movie, but I can't just talk about the bad parts of the movie or else this page will probably most likely be just as hated as the actual movie I'm talking about.

The Good Things: ⬇️

▪︎The replacement voice actors for Manfred, Ellie, Diego, Eddie, and Crash try their best to sound like the original voice actors with their efforts paying off.

▪︎Buck Wild, Buck Wild's adopted pumpkin child, and Mama T.Rex returns along with "The Lost World".

▪︎The movie has a decent plot.

▪︎The 2D animation in the style of "cave paintings" is pretty neat.

▪︎And Scrat is not in this movie, more on this late.

Now that I got all of this out of the way, let's dive right it.

Part l: Good Story, Bad Animation

"The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild" actually has a decent story. The plot of this movie is about Crash and Eddie, Ellie's possum brothers, want to be independent and make their mark on the world. Unfortunately, Manfred thinks that Crash and Eddie are too stupid to be on their own due to the fact that all they do for self defense is playing dead.

However when Eddie and Crash manage to get into The Lost World in order to start their new lives as independent possums after sneaking away at night, they soon find out by Buck Wild that a small Triceratops with highly advanced intelligence named Orson has escaped from exile and now wants to rule The Lost World as a way to get revenge on those who belittled him for literally having a big head.
