(A year has passed, Seth was barely hanging in as tensions rose. There had been many fights against the army, the army were now known as Shawkeen. Shawkeen knew of Seth's army which is fighting back. Now that Shawkeen has the protection of the yard Seth's always in edge trying to protect his army of 137.
Kendra and her family has almost lost with hope on saving her brother. On Midsummers eve last year they found the faries hadnt been able to build it back in time and they have heard nothing thay leads to Seth being alive. Her family are always wishing got a sign but nothing in a whole year has happened. Kendra and her family and friends presume the army had taken over Fablehaven and had killed Seth.
TW: may have slight swearing.)

Kendra sat in her room, she had called the Fairy Kindom home for over a year including Dale, Warren, Vanessa, Grandma and Grandpa.
She was flipping mindlessly through a book, it's been a year since Fablehaven was taken over. She wished Seth was okay but deep down she knew he was gone. How could a mortal boy stay alive this long where wars are probably breaking out. All that has went through her mind for the past year was Seth, the only question was: was he really gone?

No one had ever mentioned the question to each other. But Kendra knew everyone thought of it. Grandpa hasn't been the same, he's always blamed himself for it. He always said he should have stayed like he had begged. Kendra wished he wouldn't blame himself, because it wasn't his fault. It would have happened either way.
Kendra sighed and slammed the book closed, she had been staring at the page trying to read it for an hour but she didn't even process a sentence.
She rolled over on her bed and stared at the ceiling. The beautiful winding white marble, the beautiful window was clean and shined the morning sun into her room. Her bed covers were floral and her room was large finished with a closet, desk, bed and a small bathroom. She sat up and decided to get ready. She walked over to the wardrobe and pulled on a small dress, it went just below her knees and had beautiful flowers on it. It fitted her body perfectly it was her favorite dress she owned. She went into her bathroom and put on some makeup and headed out of her room.
She entered the room where all her family's room were combined.
She flung the door open that led to the hallway of the palace. She went down to the dining hall, she found Bracken and a few Sartys eating breakfast. It was early, probably 5:30am, she was surprised to see anyone awake.
Bracken waved her over, she came and sat down in a chair. The table was long and reached each side of the hall. It was lit with candles and sun from the windows. The floor was marble and the ceiling was coverd in blooming vines.
The table was made of beautiful wood and the chairs were crafted as if they had been braided together like a simple hair-do.
"You look wonderful today." Bracken said sweetly with a big smile.
"Thank you, how are you today?" Kendra said grabbing a straw berry from a floral patterned bowl.
"I'm good, how about you?" Bracken said playing with her hair.
"I just wish Seth was here." Kendra said with a sigh.
"I'm sorry, I miss him too. There's still a chance he's alive you know." Bracken said shoving a handful of blueberry into his mouth.
"Yeah I know but the chances are low. Anyways what are you doing today?" Kendra said noticing a book in his hands.Bracken placed the book on she could see the cover, it was a book about three Bahamas plants. Kendra couldn't help but laugh, it was so in character for him to read about plants.
"I'm not sure, I was thinking about you and me go do something?" Bracken said blushing a little. Kendra smirked, she nodded as she cut into a steaming pancake.
"So, what would you want to do?" Bracken said grabbing a piece of toast and spreading orange jam onto it.

"Not sure, a hike to the lake sounds nice." Kendra said shoving the pancake into her mouth. The taste of pancakes brought back so many fablehaven mornings. Grandpa would always make pancakes, Seth would usually just shove one in his mouth on the way out the door. Kendra smirked at the happy memory of her brother, but her heart ached at the same time.
