Nineteen

No one's p.o.v

The kids returned to the quarantine place and saw the people walking around there. Su-hyeok, On-jo and Areum walked up to some soldiers

"Excuse me gun-in seonsaengnim (군인 선생님: Soldier Sir)" One of the soldiers went up to them "What happened? Do you need anything?" He asked them, earning a shook of head

"We.. Know a bit about the cure of the virus.." On-jo's words caught the attention of the other soldiers as well

"What do you mean? What do you kids know about it?" He said in a stern tone, and Areum replied to him politely "Can you please let us talk to the scientists or doctors who are finding the cure to this?"

"We are not allowed to let anyone meet them" By now, they were getting on Areum's nerves but she held back, trying hard not to break their nose "Sie please, a lot of our friends are still stuck with a half zombie in their bodies, and it's really important for them to be alright or else the world will end up being filled with Hambies" This time, there was a coldness in Areum's tone and that gave a hint to the soldier about how serious they are

"Mhm... let me talk to the generals" The three kids thanked the soldier and were told to wait until they get a reply from the generals and the doctors

"Do you think they will let us meet them?" Su-hyeok nodded at On-jo "They got the laptop from our school, so they might consider"

In few minutes, one of the soldiers came up to them "Follow me" They smiled at each other and followed the soldiers to the laboratory where the doctors and the generals were

The soldier took them to one of their generals, and he left soon as the general told the three to sit down

"I've been informed that you are students of Hyosan High, and you have found the cure to the virus, is that right?" The three kids nodded and On-jo was the one to explain everything, from the incident with Hyeon-ju in the infirmary to non of the zombies trying to bite On-jo and Areum, and the general actually seemed to be deep in thoughts and was paying attention to each and every word the girl was saying

"Mhm, Your points are making sense" He told one of the soldiers standing outside to call the head doctor and he did, and as the doctor came, the general explained everything to him and he did not look too fine about the idea

"Sir.. We can do the tests as it is making sense... But in this procedure, these two kid's lives can be on line.." The three, and the general looked at the doctor in either confused or surprised way

"We will have to test if their blood actually can overcome the virus and for that.. We will have to inject the virus in one of them... If it does cure the virus so we will need to get the blood from the other's body cause we will be injected the virus into one's already... And the amount of blood we will be needing is not safe to get from a human's body"

On-jo held onto Areum's hand and didn't hesitate speaking up "You can test it by injecting the virus in me" Areum and Su-hyeok looked at On-jo surprised

"On-jo..." She looked at Su-hyeok and sighed "Su-hyeok... One of us will have to go through the hard time in both cases... If the cure is not in our blood then I will end up turning into a zombie and basically die... And if it is, then Areum will have to give out too much blood, which is also leading to dying..." Areum nodded, agreeing with On-jo" It's simple... One of us will have to sacrifice"

"What are you two's names?" The doctor asked, gaining their attention "Ah, I'm Nam On-jo" The doctor nodded and looked at Areum waiting for her answer "I'm.." She took a pause for a second and everyone had their eyes on her

"Lee Areum..."

Su-hyeok and On-jo slightly smiled at Areum and she slightly smiled back "So, On-jo, we will have to do the test on you first, we will go and prepare, wait in the other room (An: Where they kept Eun-ji and the zombie soldier)

The doctor left the room and the three also got up, bowing to the general before walking out the room and went in front of where On-jo was told to go

Areum gently pulled her into a hug, to which On-jo gladly hugged back "Come out of there as On-jo as well, got it?" On-jo slightly chuckled and nodded her head. She gave a hug to Su-hyeok before she walked inside the room

A few doctors went inside, and they tied her on the bed cause if by any chance she turns into a zombie during the testing, she won't be able to free herself

Areum and Su-hyeok stood outside while holding each other's hand tightly as the doctor went inside and started the procedure. Areum closed her eyes when the doctor injected the virus in On-jo through the injection

The doctors came out, cause for about a few moments, they had to wait and see if the virus effects on On-jo

About a few moments passed and On-jo was still very fine, she looked at Areum and Su-hyeok who were watching her worriedly and to cheer them up, she showed them a toothy cute grin which made the two chuckle

By now, half an hour passed since the injection process, and the doctors finally went inside and untied her from the bed "We've studied the case, your and Areum's blood seem to have the right blood cells, which stops the virus from overtaking the body and kills it inside"

On-jo went outside and hugged her two friends tightly and the doctor smiled watching them "Areum, next we will proceed to start the process of the blood collecting so be prepared for it" As the doctor was about to walk away, Areum spoke up

"Uhm doctor, can I go to meet someone for sometime before the procedure..? I will be back early" The doctor nodded with a smile "it will take a while to prepare everything, so take your time" The doctor said before walking away

"Areum, who are you gonna meet?" Su-hyeok asked, to which Areum smiled warmly

"Na-yeon"

Well I just wrote all that according to the plot of the story so if the procedures and stuff doesn't makes sense irl so let it slide lol
