Twenty

No one's p.o.v

Areum, On-jo and Su-hyeok stepped in the rooftop and they saw the fire lighten up, which gave them the hint that the two girls would be somewhere around

"Na-yeon! Nam-ra! Where are you?" They called the two, excited  to tell them that they found the cure, but nervous to say at the cost of Areum's life

"You guys here?" They turned around, seeing the two girls walking towards them. A smile drawn on Areum's lips just by seeing Na-yeon

She walked closer to her, embracing her in a tight hug and Na-yeon chuckled, hugging her back tightly "Honey, it hasn't even been 24 hours since you guys last came here, is this how often you're gonna come to see us?" Areum nodded before laying her head on Na-yeon's, not breaking the hug

She knew that after this, she might not get another chance to hold the love of her life like this, and this might even be the last time she would be seeing her, being able to touch and hold her, inhale her scent, and feel the love she always received from Na-yeon

"If it was in my hands, I wouldn't have left for even a second, I don't like being away from you" Na-yeon kissed the taller girl's cheek softly, While the three just watched them smiling

"Did something happen? You guys returned early" Nam-ra asked Su-hyeok and On-jo, not wanting to disturb the two lost in their own heaven

"Actually we wanted to give you guys a good news... We.. Found the cure to the virus" that caught Na-yeon's attention as well and she finally pull away from the long hug, as she looked at them surprised

"For real? What is the cure?" Na-yeon asked, as she turned her head to Areum who seemed to be lost, staring at her with a slight smile on her lips

"Areum and me, we came to realize that the zombies have never even once tried to bite neither of us, and even after I got bitten by Hyeon-ju, I did not get infected. We managed to meet the doctors and generals who were doing research on the virus and finding the cure.. We explained the situation to them and the doctor said that they will have to do the tests first on one of us by injecting the virus in us... I did that test and fortunately, I was not effected by it... So now Areum will be giving out blood in order for them to make the vaccine.. "

On-jo explained everything, and Nam-ra and Na-yeon looked at each other, surprised, before Na-yeon turned to look at Areum who gave her a warm smile

Slowly smiled formed on both of their faces as they finally believed that they'll be fine, they would no more be with no identity, and won't have a human eating monster inside the half of them

Areum cupped Na-yeon's face "You guys are gonna be fine Na-yeon, everything will finally be alright" Na-yeon nodded as she happily hugged Areum with a huge grin on her face while Areum, on one side, she was extremely happy that Na-yeon, Nam-ra, Cheong-san and everyone else will be alright but on the other side, the fact that she was gonna be going too far from Na-yeon was already killing her inside

Na-yeon pulled away and cupped Areum's face "Yah but don't let them take too much blood out, promise me" She lifted her pinky and held it in front of Areum, who paused for a few seconds, just watching the pinky, before she grabbed Na-yeon's hand and put it down

"Love... I don't wanna promise you things that I can't do..." The smile on Na-yeon's face slowly faded away as worry replaced the happiness "What... Do you mean by that...?"

Areum looked down, not saying a single word. Na-yeon held onto her collar "Y-yah... Areum... Answer me.." Areum closed her eyes, as she did not had the courage to look into Na-yeon's eyes

"On-jo... Su-hyeok... W-what is she saying..?" Nam-ra asked the two with a hint of worry and nervousness in her stuttering.

"The doctor said... On-jo can't give out blood cause the virus is somehow mixed up with her blood even tho it broke down.... And they needed too much blood with these cells.... And Areum agreed to give out the blood....." Su-hyeok said with his head hanging down" Areum is... Sacrificing her life over this... "

Na-yeon who was looking at the two, froze on her spot for a few seconds. She felt like a train hits her heart at full speed, and someone stole all the words from her throat

She slowly turned to Areum, who finally looked up, into Na-yeon's teary eyes" Y-you..... " Na-yeon's voice cracked, as the tears finally escaped her eyes " You're L-leaving me....? A-all Alone...?"

Na-yeon finally got out from the shocked zone as realization hit her, and she immediately broke down into tears as she lightly punched Areum's chest, who was breaking inside, seeing Na-yeon in that state

"H-how could you..!" Areum wanted to hug her but Na-yeon pushed her away "N-na-yeon... You are not alone... Nam-ra, On-jo, Su-hyeok... Everyone is here with you..."

She cupped Na-yeon's face, who scoffed hearing Areum's words "I-i know.... But L-lee Areum.... You.. You're the one who I-is the light in my w-world...." She said in a low tone while her eyes were locked with Areum's, as her tears were continuously falling

"P-please.... I d-don't wanna be in the d-dark again..." Na-yeon wrapped her arms tightly around Areum, as she cried hard on her chest

"Na-yeon... If it takes one person's life to save the world.... Than let it be no.." Na-yeon slowly looked up at Areum with her tearful eyes, and gently carassed her cheek

"Y-you might be a..normal person t-to the world... But to me.... You are my world.."

Those words hit Areum like a bullet, she felt herself crashing inside. She never wanted to leave Na-yeon at any cost, but she didn't wanted to be so selfish, knowing the cure and still let the world get eaten up by this virus

" Y-you know... I was asked about my name... I told them its Lee Areum... Cause you said I'll be Lee in the end.." Na-yeon buried her face in Areum's neck, and spoke up

"It's not the end yet.."
