Aizawa's POV

I took y/n to a nicer well known brunch place on the upper side of town. I wasn't sure how fancy y/n liked things but I wanted to treat her to something nice.

"Are you sure we're going to be able to get in," she asked trailing behind me.

"We're two well known pro heroes. I think we'll be fine," I say pushing through the line. The hostess was about to chastise us for cutting when her eyes landed in y/n.

"Oh my gosh are you Daybreak," she exclaimed loudly. Y/n looked surprised her eyes wide but she simply nodded in response. Honestly I wasn't suprised, y/n was highly beloved and praised when she was an active hero. Even taking the number fourth spot on the hero charts one year. I on the other hand was never in spotlight.

"I'm such a huge fan, could I get an autograph," she asked y/n holding out a notepad and pen.

"Only if we can get the next table," I interject sending y/n a small smirk. The hostess didn't hesitate to agree and you rolled your eyes at me and signed the notepad. Shortly after we were seated on the upper deck with a great view of Japan.

"Wow," y/n said looking over the railing making me nervous with how far she was leaning. "The view is breathtaking, but nothing beats sunrises from the top of skyscrapers," she said turning around to face me.

"I prefer sunsets personally," I replied pulling out her chair so that she could take a seat. My mother did teach me some manners.

"Well with sunrises there's like a light buzz I can feel under my skin, sunsets make feel drowsy," she confessed while taking her seat. "It's been like that since I got my quirk."

"Did you like your quirk when you first got it," I asked.

"Yes and no. I had to be kept out of the sun a lot until I could control my quirk. I was like a little light bomb who would throw tantrums," she explained with a gentle laugh.

"How about you?"

"I inherited my father's quirk and we don't have the best relationship so I suppose I wasn't the happiest about it. Plus my quirk didn't exactly scream wow factor if anything it freaked the other kids out," I replied honestly thinking about how kids would never look me in the eye. Mic and Oboro were the only ones who would ever look me in the eye.

"Why were they scared of you? Were you just as brooding and intimidating as a kid," she asked lightly.

"Being utterly powerless is a terrifying feeling for adults let alone children. My quirk basically ripped away their safety nets," I answered flatly.

"I think you have an amazing quirk," she says with a bright smile that makes my heart skip a beat. Thankfully a waitress came and took our orders interrupting the conversation. Once the waitress left we were left to ourselves.

"So do you have any family around besides your mother," I ask unsure of what to say or ask.

"My dad took off when I was younger, he calls and makes promises to see me more but he never comes through. I have an older brother, Kenji, he's overprotective but really sweet. He's a pro hero over in Hosu. Then I have my younger brother Riku he used to be a bit of a troublemaker but now he's just a big goofball," she replies a small smile on her lips as she talks about her family.

"Your mother and your brother sound very nice," I say trying to imagine her with her family smiling. It was a vastly different picture compared to my family
