Hii guys, I know its been longer than 2 days but I'm back and I'll be updating now. x :)

As Cat drives me home a million thoughts race through my head. Did he want to kiss me? Was he just playing with me? Maybe he simply just wanted to mess with me? I think about how I'm going to see him at the party tonight as Cat drives up to the house where my puppy, Kango, is already waiting at the door for me. I call her Kango because when she jumps she looks just like a kangaroo so that's how she got the nickname. Caitlin pulls between the beams in the front of the stone and marble driveway and I get out while thinking of how stupid it was for my mom to buy such a big house when I'm the only one at home most of the time.

"We are going to go get you a car this weekend, it's getting annoying driving you around!" Cat jokingly yells as I walk towards the door.

"I cant this weekend, maybe we can go after school on Monday!" I yell back as I roll my eyes. "Now get out of my driveway, you're scaring Kango!" I joke and Cat gracefully flips me off as she drives out of the metal gates at the bottom of the long driveway.

As I push open the heavy glass door I set my keys and bag on the table in the hall and go straight up the stairs to see what outfit I'm going to wear to the party. Its 5:00 now so I have about four hours to get ready which is more than enough time. As I walk through my room and into the closet I see three bags on the glass table in the middle of the closet room.

"It was a delivery for you just after you left for school this morning so I decided to put it here." My housekeeper, Alicia, says and I smile as I see the note from my mom that says "With love from Paris x".

"Thank you, its perfect Ali." I say as she walks out of the closet and back into the room. I must admit that having a mother that goes away for business all the time has its perks.

I open the first small black and silver box and I internally scream. They're the sparkly black Jimmy Choo's with red on the sole and the bottom that I've wanted for months! At least I now know what shoes I'm wearing to the party. I open the medium box next and a Louis Vuitton shoulder bag falls out. My mom has clearly gone all out on this shopping spree! I can't wait as I tear through the tissue paper of the biggest bag and I see a black Chanel dress at the bottom and I immediately call my mom.

"Mom!" I scream as she answers her phone. "Thank you so much!"

"I see you opened the presents." she says with a laugh.

"Yes I did! You spent so much, I feel bad." I say as I realize how much this must've cost.

"No! It was my pleasure and I hope it makes up for some news I'm about to tell you." she says and my stomach drops. Oh no. "I might have to stay in Paris for a while longer."

"How much longer?" I ask.

"About four months longer than planned." She practically whispers into the phone as I remember her original plan was to stay there for three months.

"You, you're, you're staying for seven months?" I manage to stutter as I sit down on the floor leaning against the table I was just celebrating at.

"I'm so sorry sweetie but I have to go, there is a wardrobe malfunction with Dior!" she yells as I hear yelling in the background. "And yes, I have to stay for seven months, I love you" she says and before I can reply, the call ends and I start to cry.

The clothes are the upside of my moms job, the going away for months on end would be the downside. The last time she was home was during the Christmas holidays and she stayed for a week and a half before leaving again. Not having a dad also sucks because that means I have no parental figure apart from Alicia when my mom is away. I wipe my eyes and get up so that I can get ready. I don't want to sit at home being sad so I decide it would be best for me to go out.
