It was my first official day in Boston. I moved here not only to become a dental assistant but to hopefully have a family here. I came here from Philly because I wanted to stay on the east coast and still be close to my family but I just wanted to branch off and be independent. And how did I do that, by moving to a whole new city and state.
"Riah where do you want me to put this big ass box?" My stepdad yelled. I looked over and saw it was labeled kitchen. "You can put it in the kitchen." I yelled back. "Riah your place is nice can I stay?" My 9 year old brother Tyrone said. "Haha no." I said in a funny then serious tone "Sissy!!" Winter my 1 year old sister called reaching out for me.
"Hey my little baby I promise I'm going to come in visit when ever I can. I'm really going to miss you guys." I said as my mother walked in with a cart full of my beauty products. "Oh my big baby is finally out on her own. Where has the last 20 years gone, my baby is doing hair and is a dental assistant. I'm coming to to you so you can give me some free cleanings."
"Well okay but I don't think it work like that but when every you need your hair did you know I lm always open to do it." I said just looking around my new place. To new beginnings.
Couple hours later
My family left we all said are tearful goodbyes. Even though I m not that far away it's going to be weird not being around my mom everyday. She is definitely my best friend I guess I have to get used to it like my older sister did when she moved out. Now it was just me. My step dad john and a couple others helped build everything even installed my TV. I'm so thankful for having this amount of help. My mom and I were setting up my place so I'm comfortable. Everything is basically done now it's time for mama to relax.
