you walk out the room you woke up in, still in your clothes from yesterday. you hear the brothers talking somewhere so you head straight, you need to have a few words with them.
when you enter the room, they both go quiet, turning their attention to you.
"where's my phone?" you question ran, since he was the last person to have it. he reaches into his pocket and pulls out your phone. after he hands it to you, you immediately call mikey. thankfully, he picks up.
"y/n?!" he yells, making you pull the phone away from your ear. cringing, you bring it closer so you can hear him.
"mikey, um, sorry i haven't answered, i technically got kidnapped."
"i know, i was literally on call when it happened." he answers nonchalantly, then your phone is grabbed. deja vu anyone?
"you'll be seeing her later, goodbye." rindou ends the call immediately after that, stuffing your phone into his pocket this time. can a girl not have a phone?
"what do you mean?" you question, crossing your arms over your chest. rindou and ran glance at each, making jerky motions in your direction before rindou sighs in defeat and turns to face you.
"the battle between valhalla and toman is today, we're going as spectators, do you want to come with us?" rindou asks you, looking everywhere in the room but at you. the gears in your head move slowly before everything clicks.
"there's a battle?!" your outburst surprises them.
"you didn't know?" ran asks, and you shake your head from side to side in response.
"i ran out of the last meeting."
"why?"
"i saw my brother." you inform them, biting your lip to keep yourself from spilling anymore information, but they pry further.
"what's so bad about seeing your brother?" rindou asks you, and you move your head to the side, not answering him. he grits his teeth, pure annoyance written on his face but he doesn't ask you anything else. ran notices the tension and steps between the two of you.
"y/n, there are some clothes laid out on the bed you were just in, go shower quickly and then we can leave."
"where's the shower?" you ask, and ran starts to give you directions. you mutter a thanks before going back to the room, grabbing the clothes and then heading off to the shower. while in the shower, your mind starts to wonder.
'everyone is probably happy i'm gone...'
'maybe i should just stay away from toman now, people would like that.'
'but mikey...he'll probably hate me in due time.'
'ugh, my ankle hurts...'
you turn the water off and step out, wrapping a towel around your body while drying your hair with another towel. now, you stand in front of the mirror, staring into your reflection. people are right, you are ugly. well, you don't even know if you're pretty or ugly, people have just always called you ugly, that's all you think you are.
an ugly, worthless piece of shit who should just d-
"are you almost done?!" rindou yells from somewhere outside of the door, and you reach up to wipe tears you didn't know were falling. dammit.
"y-yeah!" you curse at yourself, hating the way your voice breaks in the middle of the word. rindou says nothing more so you finish drying yourself off, slipping on the oversized clothes. the clothes probably belong to one of them.
you open the door and walk to where the brothers are waiting. they look at you when you walk up beside them.
"you look good in my clothes, i guess." rindou suddenly blurts out after a moment of silence, and you stare at him with shock. that's the first compliment you've gotten in years from anyone who isn't mikey.
"thanks, i guess." you match his emotionless tone, which he notices. rolling his eyes, he walks out the door, leaving you to snicker quietly to yourself. ran follows him shortly, and you walk out right behind ran.
the ride to the place isn't long, and soon you find yourself overlooking a large junkyard, with a couple hundred, maybe, boys. you're the only girl, but it's not like you're fighting or anything.
a few minutes later, toman arrives, and you immediately pick mikey out from the crowd, it's not hard anyway.
everyone in toman seems to suddenly be looking at you, their judging stares boring deep into your skin. you resist the urge to shrink down, to try to hide yourself. instead, you stare at mikey until he finally looks in your direction, for some reason.
you wave at him, before giving him two thumbs up and a cheeky smile, like you always do. he looks to your left, where the brothers are sitting, before looking back at you and returning the gesture. then, he turns his attention back to the fight before him.
you bring your knees to your chest and decide you'll actually pay attention this time.
