the doctors took you away moments ago, leaving the two boys pacing in the waiting room. mikey stops his pacing for a moment to look at hanma, finally noticing what gang uniform he is wearing.

"how do you know y/n?" mikey questions him, finally sitting down in a chair. hanma sits down on a chair opposite to mikeys.

"first saw her at the valhalla and toman fight, but i first spoke to her when she was in the hospital after the fight. you don't remember? you were there." hanma speaks calmly, acting differently than he usually does.

the doctor finally walks out, the two boys shoot up from their seats, "how is she?!" they both ask in unison.

"i'm sorry...she didn't make it." the doctor looks like he's trying to hold back laughter while horror crosses the two boys' faces.

"kidding, she told me to say that." the doctor chuckles slightly, "you may see her." the two boys rush past him and sigh in relief when they see you sitting there on your phone. you turn to them with a stoic look on your face.

"i wanna go with you guys to the battle between tenjiku and toman, plus, you're already late, right?" hanma and mikey look at each other, before they look at you.

"but which side are you gonna be on?" mikey raises an eyebrow while staring at you. you don't react.

"i'll be wherever you are, mikey, now let's go. bye hanma, and thanks for driving me here, i'll thank you later." you mutter out, grabbing mikey by his hand and pulling him out of the hospital room with you. the doctor notices you two.

"you shouldn't leave-"

"i'm fine now, so i'm leaving." you say, and the doctor shuts himself up. sighing, you continue to walk out of the hospital with mikey. he watches you from behind, gripping your hand with his, just so you don't suddenly leave him behind.

"y/n...why were you there with emma? aren't those brothers always with you now?" mikey asks you, nearly bumping into your back when you stop walking.

"yeah, i ran away. they were kind of controlling, and scary." you shiver as you remember the night before, at the sano residence, "they're sweet sometimes, but the other times...eh, i don't want to talk about it."

mikey nods, getting onto his bike with you behind him. soon, he is speeding towards where the fight is taking place. when you both arrive, no one notices, that is until takemichi raises his fist from where he is standing, beaten and battered.

everyone turns to the two of you, and all go silent.

"y/n?" someone says from within the crowd of toman members. as he pushes himself through, kazutora emerges to where you are, immediately wrapping his arms around your torso and hugging you.

taking a look around, you notice you're not the only female there. hina and emma are standing off to the side. you would go join them, but someone's voice stops you in your tracks, well, more like multiple voices.

"y/n. i thought you said you wouldn't betray tenjiku." izana speaks from where he is standing. you only roll your eyes at him, keeping an expressionless face.

"ever heard of lying? plus, one of your members tried to kill me, so..." even if he wasn't aiming for you directly, he still tried to kill you. and why wouldn't you blame your dear brother.

"what?!" someone yells from above. you look up to see the haitani brothers making their way through the crowd, "who the fuck was it?!" they don't even ask why you're on the other side of the fight.

"my dear brother, tetta kisaki." you smile sweetly, but your eyes don't change as they glance up and stare straight at kisaki. he starts to freak out as everyone turns their attention to him, and he looks to his partner for assistance. but where is his partner?

"they'll probably kill him, y'know?" hanma says from behind you, watching as the brothers approach your brother, but you just shrug. he deserves it.

"now, for the others..." you look away and make eye-contact with izana, feeling his rage from where you stand. you recall the fun time you had with him at the arcade that one time, but brush it aside. you've chosen where you stand, and you're not leaving again.

"wow, didn't know you would suddenly switch sides." someone else comes up closer to you, and you raise an eyebrow.

"oh hello, drinking buddy." you stare at him, but he just looks away, raising his hands in defense while slowly walking over to toman's side. unexpected, but you'll take it. mikey grabs your shoulders and makes you face him.

"go stand with the girls, we'll handle this." he demands, and all of the boys around you nod in agreement. the girls are waving you over. damn, they switched up real quick.

but this is only the beginning.
