VIOLETTA PETROVA IS MANY THINGS. Is stubborn one of them? Absolutely. Is being the possessor of a high level of common sense one of them? Absolutely not.So naturally, when she was told she can't go with Tony to do the 'dangerous stuff' and was to help with the civilian evacuations instead, a pout appeared on her lips and she crossed her arms like an angry, defiant toddler. This lasted for approximately two minutes of her arguing and rambling that she's "not a baby" and she's "ready for more dangerous things" until she was cut off by Clint.
"Violet. We only said you can't go with Tony because you can't fly. No one said you weren't ready for it," The man chuckled at the young girl's theatrics.
Violet's face fell. "Oh..." She blushed in embarrassment. "Right..."
In the corner of her eye were the Maximoff twins, obviously entertained by the girl's theatrics. The redhead tried to fight back a smile, whilst her brother just stood with an amused smirk. Violet caught the boy's eyes for a split second, immediately looking away sheepishly.
As Steve gave another one of his inspirational speeches, Violet sat in the back corner of the jet, picking at her fingernails nervously, a habit from her childhood that seemed impossible to drop.
"This seat taken?" Violet looked up from her hands to see Wanda in front of her with a small, kind smile on her lips.
Violet shook her head, slightly confused. "No, go ahead."
Wanda took a seat across from Violet. "Don't worry about getting upset by mistake. It was funny."
"That's not what I'm worried about," Violet mumbled, meeting eyes with the witch.
"What is it?"
Violet hesitated.
"You can tell me."
"I'm scared." Admitting it is the hardest part.
"That's normal, Violet," Wanda assured. "You do not think we are all terrified?"
"But that's not what I'm scared of... This is my first big mission and I'm scared that I'm gonna mess it up and that I'm still gonna be that kid who everyone says isn't ready. The one everyone sees in the media and says 'why are they letting a kid like that in the Avengers?'"
A laugh of disbelief sounded from a few seats down. The girls turned their heads to see Pietro with a scoff of amusement. "You are not scared that we're all going to die, but that you might not prove yourself?"
"Back off, 'Etro," His sister scolded.
Violet couldn't help but chuckle too before they continued talking and laughing about anything teenage girls can talk and laugh about. Well, teenage girls who were about to be fighting for the fate of the planet. Powers, makeup, clothes etc; the usual.
