— Chapter 4 —

The morning atmosphere of Chodchasi Wildlife Sanctuary today is especially bustling. Many of the rare wild animals that the police intercepted and seized from the assailants were sent to Dr. Chol for their health checks before being released back into the wild.

Chief Sinth, doctor Chol and lieutenant Run stood to watch. Rung, Napat, and uncle Perm helped the police carefully to transport all the cages down with Kwan taking notes to check the number nearby.

"Thank you very much, Run. If you and the cops don't intercept them, bad people. By now, these animals must have been sent to

the border."
"It's my duty. There is so much
evidence, it could cause them, bad people to be imprisoned until they die."
"And did you get the answer yet? About who are they working for."
"No, not at all, both Thais and foreigners, they keep their mouths shut. It will take some time to investigate."
"There are cowards. When will this end?"
"It would be difficult. Trading preserved animals and forbidden timber. One year there is a turnover of hundreds of millions. Even if they risk going to jail, they aren't afraid."

Run finished speaking, chief Sinth only sighed wearily before turning to look at the things that made him feel a little relieved. Lieutenant Run looked at his friend's eyes suspiciously and had to smile when he saw who his friend's eyes were focused on.

"Dr. Chol is really good. Having a slim waist like that, but the posture when working is very fluently. Look at him, he's cute, isn't he?"
"That's normal, veterinarians have to be good at treating animals, right?"

Chief Sinth deceived as soon as he realized what his friend meant. But his eyes still stared at the little man who was examining the animals in front of him. Lieutenant Run could only look at his friend, smile, and say nothing more.

Time passed until the evening. When doctor Chol finished his work, he walked back to his accommodation. But on his way back, he saw uncle Perm, Napat, and a few other officers helping to load many small trees into a truck. So he walked right in to see.

"Pat, where are you taking the trees?"
"Oh, we're taking them to the village, doctor. In the next two days, they will have a forest ordination ceremony. Reforestation will be planted on that day as well. The chief ordered us to plant seedlings for the ceremony."
"That sounds good. How far is the village from here?"
"Not far. Leaving the unit for a bit and we'll be arriving. Oh right, since you came here, you haven't been to the village yet. Doctor, do you want to come with me? As soon as we finished unloading the tree, I'll take you there."
"Yes, sure."

Doctor Chol responded, excitedly.
Before walking to sit on the side bench to wait for Napat to finish the work.

Napat took doctor Chol for a walk around the village. Took him to see the rice fields, and took the doctor to meet the villagers to get to know them. He got souvenirs from the villagers packed in the back of the car. Both fruit and various processed agricultural products. But he had to accept them. Because if not, for fear of losing etiquette. Because it is the custom of the villagers here. Guests arriving at the village must welcome and get gifts.

The two of them came to the end of the village at a large teak house. In front of the house, there is a small sign emblazoned on it that says the village headman's office. This is Khampong's house.

Doctor Chol followed Napat from the car and went straight to the house. When he arrived in the living room, the little man was suddenly stunned because the scene in front of him was chief Sinth sitting with the village headman, Khampong. There was also a beautiful girl handing him a bowl of water and smiling at him.

"Oh, Mr. Pat, Dr. Chol, where have you been?"

The oldest person in the group greeted. While the two young men raised their hands to pay respect in greeting.
