Chapter 1

— Chapter 1 —
Several gunshots sounded from the forest reserve on the other side of the Chodchasi Mountains. While officials from Pah In forest protection unit were leading a team of veterinarians to track the wildlife.

All the officers hoisted up their guns at the same time without a word. Caused a lot of panic among the veterinarians.

Cholatharn Panapat (Chol), a third- year student of the Department of Veterinary Medicine who came to work in the summer with a senior doctor, began to feel insecure. Chol looked around and whispered to the person in front of him with a question full of paranoia.

"What happened?"

"The sound of gunfire came from the forest over there. The Chodchasi is facing the bad guys! What should we fo, boss?"

The senior forest ranger asked his boss. While he was still in a ready position to fire a gun anytime.

"Uncle Suchart, take the doctors back to the unit first. The rest come with me."

The team leader gave an order and ran to lead the remaining forest rangers in the direction that the gunshots were heard, immediately. While Suchart Lower the gun and lead the vet team back to where they were to rush out of the forest as quickly as possible.

As soon as the team of veterinarians walked out, they had to run scattered in different directions. As there were dozens of bulls escaping from the sound of gunshots coming towards them.

Cholatharn ran through the overgrown forest without thinking of life. To be sure that
there were no footsteps of the bulls caused him to be very exhausted. As the young veterinarian looked around, there was only him standing in the middle of the dense forest.

"Shit!!! Where have all the others gone? And which way should I run back?!"

Chol looked at the atmosphere around, at this moment it's very lonely and fear began to creep in.

"Doctor! Uncle Suchart! Can you hear me? Doctor! Uncle Suchart!"

Chol shouted as loud as possible, but there was no reply from the both of them. And he was terribly shocked when he felt a solid object poked his waist from behind.

"Don't move!"

Chol stood stiffly at the command of the mystery man speaking from behind. As he turned his head and looked back, he saw a hooded man with a muzzle pointed at his back. In the distance, three more men were covering their faces, armed with weapons, aiming at him as well.

"Don't do anything to me. I just got lost, I don't know anything."

"Quiet! Come with me!"

"Where are we going?"

There was no answer from the villains. Chol was grabbed by the collar and forced to walk forward.

"Boss, why are you taking this boy with us?"

One of the villains asked curiously.

"Taking it to be our shield against the forest rangers first. When we escape across the border then we'll shoot it down!"

The answered from the assailant made the young vet had almost collapsed on his knees, the words

"shot it down"

kept ringing in his ears, it made him exhausted to continue walking.

"Do you wanna die here? Walk!"

The leader of the assailant shouted causing Chol to startle. Not only that, but the bad guy also heavily pushed his feet on Chol's back. Chol, who had not yet been able to gain a foothold, fell to the ground.
