Derek's POV
After the incident this morning Scott decided it would be best if I took a very long hike far away from the house and I very much agreed with him. I needed to get Stiles off of my mind and relax my wolf before going back and dealing with the annoying teenager. Ignoring the urge to turn around, I take off in a sprint in the direction of the woods.

Nearly four hours later I find myself laying on the front lawn of the cabin, my back pressed against the dirt as I breathe heavily from the running session I've just endured. My lungs feel as if their going to collapse any moment and I find myself stripping my shirt off, tossing the soaked piece of cloth to the side somewhere. I can hear my blood pumping in my own ears and instantly try to tune out all the sounds around me, searching in the distance until I finally find it. Stiles' heartbeat, steady and rhythmic, causing mine to slowly match his. I smile up at the sky at hearing the beautiful noise fill my eardrums. My vision of the sky is darkened by a figure and I take in a breath, realizing quickly that it's Scott.
"What do you want?" I ask him with annoyance.
He grunts out while softly kicking my side, "We have to talk about this thing with Stiles."
I sit up and accept his hand as he helps pull me up. "What about it?"
He seems to be nervous before he finally spits it out, "Stiles likes you and I know how his mind works. He's going to keep bothering you until you finally admit your feelings for him and I know how messy all of this is going to end, so please just tell him already."
I give him questioning eyes causing him to sigh out, "I'm exhausted fighting against you to protect this little secret you've got going on. I'm not so sure I'll hold you back next time."
I groan and look towards the house, listening to Stiles' heartbeat again. "Okay, fine. I'll tell him, but I want us to be alone so we're both less nervous about it."
Scott laughs while nodding. "Say less, I'll get the pack out of the house for a bit. Training day with Alpha Scott is underway."
I chuckle as I watch him race to the house to get the pack ready. I easily find myself nervous now at talking to Stiles about us and what we may become. If he rejects me, my wolf and I wouldn't survive. I'm not sure I can fully trust myself to cope well afterwards, but I'll try my best, for the pack.
I walk into the house, briefly realizing my shirt is still outside somewhere, and see Stiles laying on the couch. He laying stomach down with a book in his hands, reading quietly with his legs in the air as they slowly kick back and forth. I almost laugh at the scene, he seems so innocent, like he has no care in the world. I want to just lay under him and run my fingers through his hair while listening to his steady heartbeat as he smiles down at his book.
"What are you reading?"
I nearly laugh when he jumps with a squeal at my sudden voice. He's always been so jumpy, no matter how long we've known each other. A part of me hope he never stops being this way, just because it's absolutely adorable.
He looks over at me with a glare that quickly turns into wide eyes and a blush as his brown doe eyes trail over my exposed front. "A B-Batman comic."
I chuckle at his shyness and move closer to him. "You really are obsessed with Batman aren't you?"
I notice him shuffling to move so that he's sitting upright and on the farthest end of the couch, which in turn makes me frown slightly. Why is he acting like this now? Flustered, when this morning he was clearly trying to provoke me. Was it all an attempt to tease me like he does the others? My wolf starts to surface with that jealous feeling again but I quickly shut it down. If I start growling and getting hateful with him now I'll get no where's with him.
I sit on the other end of the couch and give him a steady look. "Are you okay?"
He nods slowly before chuckling out, "Yeah of course I am. It's just that you're kind of half naked D-Derek."
I take notice at how he stutters my name and a smirk forms on my lips. "Is that a problem?"
He seems to be having an internal struggle. "No, I guess not."
I clear my throat and look at his wide eyes and notice the slight blush on his cheeks. "Look, Stiles I just wanted to tell you that I really-"
"Well hello my darling nephew and my favorite human, how crazy to see you both here and not with the pack." I turn to glare at a very snarky Peter.
He really knows when to make an appearance doesn't he? "Hmm and why are you here Peter and not with the pack?" I grit out.
He chuckles and his eyes rake over Stiles. "I wanted to keep the human company, thought he might get lonely."
I bristle and notice Stiles speak up from behind me. "Like I've always said, you're a creeperwolf."
I see Peter smile fondly at Stiles which makes my wolf growl lowly. "If there isn't anything you need then I suggest you leave, Peter."
Peter smiles at me with a fake expression of warmth while holding out a box of chess. "But I wanted to play with Stiles, if he'll let me. He's so fun to play with, Derek. Better than the rest of the dull-headed children here."
I growl again but Stiles quickly gets up and sits at the dining table. "Oh heck yeah, creeperwolf! Chess!"
I see Peter smirk at me as he moves to join Stiles. "Of course, I know you more than anyone, sweetheart. You love chess."
Growling I stand up and exit the house before I rip Peter's heart out and then hold Stiles to me until he's fully scent marked by me. Peter is doing this deliberately to make me jealous, he doesn't even swing that way, he just wants to see me suffer. Well, it's not going to work this time, I'm just going to ignore him and force myself to remain calm.
